7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward. ~ Psalms 19:7-11NKJV
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17NKJV
In today’s world, we often say that the Word of the LORD (The Bible) must adapt to fit the times. That it’s too offensive in its original meaning and, therefore, must be redefined and reinterpreted. They’ll even go as far as to say that Jesus not only condoned but supported pedophilia in order to defend their own fleshly desires. I heard a voodoo high priest explain that if your religion cannot adapt and change to fit the times, then your religion is a cult. That may sound good to some, but to me it really doesn’t make any sense.
If your religion is constantly adapting and changing to fit culture, then you don’t have an actual religion. You don’t have an actual set of beliefs. If your religion is shaped by culture, then your religion is your culture, which is just man’s own opinions and desires taking charge. And because of that, your foundation is no longer strong or even solid. It’s now shaky and uncertain. Something that cannot last the generations.
As Christians, our belief in Scripture is that it is the Word of Almighty God that defines generations, and is not defined by the generations. Culture is whatever man gives in to. That is why, in certain nations, they have a rape culture; they have a murderous culture. When we allow culture to define us, we lose sight of the only Rock on which we can stand. We lose sight of what is good and what is evil. We become blinded to the Truth. Therefore, we cling to the Word of God over any and every thing culture defines as right, for our foundation is Christ, the very Word of God.
Peace. Love. Go Forth and Do Not Cling To Culture.
