Speak For The Silenced

“They served their idols, which became a snare to them. They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the demons; they poured out innocent blood, the blood of their sons and daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, and the land was polluted with blood. Thus they became unclean by their acts, and played the whore in their deeds. Then the anger of the Lord was kindled against his people, and he abhorred his heritage; he gave them into the hand of the nations, so that those who hated them ruled over them. Their enemies oppressed them, and they were brought into subjection under their power.” ~ Psalms 106:36-42ESV

Over a million abortions happen every year in the US alone. Innocent babies lives are cut short in their mother’s womb. The majority of abortions? Because the mother didn’t want the child. We’ve created a society that has taught and programmed our children, teens, and adults to believe that their lives are more important than anyone else’s. That the child in their mother’s womb isn’t really a child but a clump of cells. A parasite. Not even human. So, they sacrifice them. Not on a literal altar but in a spiritual altar. On the altar of self.

See, this is no different than when the ancient world would sacrifice their children on the altar or on the wall. They sacrificed their children to demons who promised them rain, fertility, and many other things. Today, we sacrifice our children for our career, relationships, self, etc. We don’t throw our children into a fire on the name of a god. No, we suck them out of the womb limb by limb and the people who do these surgeries then sell the murdered baby to the highest bidder.

We, as a society, enjoy saying that we are more civilized than previous generations, especially those of antiquity because of our culture and technology, but what is so civil about the murder of the unborn? The only difference is you can’t hear the baby in the womb scream for help. You don’t see them struggle to get away from the vacuum. They are out of sight out of mind, and therefore, not seen as something that can be murdered.

We have become like those in the book The Giver. Our relationships turned to simply what is necessary for society to function. Our emotions removed and our conscience quieted, so that when we see the murder of innocent babies, we do not use intense words that cause emotions and make us think, such as murder. Instead we say it’s healthcare.

We are at a crossroads of sorts in society today. Many are advocating for the silenced voices of the unborn. Many are fighting for their rights. As Christians what are we to do? Pray? Yes. That should be the very first thing we do, but not the only thing we do. Our vote matters. Policies are a part of changing the culture. Not only what we do privately, but publicly bringing awareness. Standing up for the unborn when people say that their lives don’t matter. Speaking up instead of remaining silent. Things will never change and this ritual murderous sacrifice will never come to an end unless the Church begins to do something about it.

Today is Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity. Usually, today we remain silent in honor of those who have been silenced from the womb, but don’t remain silent. Don’t keep silent.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Speak For The Silenced.
