42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” ~ John 4:42NKJV
There are so many different beliefs out there on who Jesus is. From the time of Jesus the question was posed, “Who do they say that I am?” They gave Him answers like Elijah, a prophet, Jeremiah, John The Baptist, but none of these were accurate. They didn’t see who Jesus really was; today is no different. See, today we continue saying He was a good man, a prophet, a great teacher or rabbi, but so many of us stop there. Entire religions claim the Bible as a foundational Truth, but never actually grasp who Jesus is.
They’re fine with calling Him a prophet or rabbi, even a good man. They’ll even go as far as to say He is the Savior of the World, but they stop there. They say He’s just a man chosen by God. Or He’s the Son of God, not God. They don’t realize that by calling Him the Savior, they are calling Him God. See, God made it very clear throughout the Scriptures that He alone is the Savior.
11 I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.
Isaiah 43:11ESV
They unknowingly declare Jesus as God every time they say He is the Savior of the World. Every time they declare He is their Savior, they are saying He is their God. Jesus isn’t just a really good man or prophet. He isn’t just the Son of God, as in less than, no He is God. He is God incarnate. He is the Savior of the whole World.
Scripture interprets Scripture. It doesn’t matter what another person says, how many degrees or followers they have, how old they are or how long they’ve been saved, nor what title they give to themselves, if they don’t line up with the Word of God their interpretation is opinion and their opinion is irrelevant. Why use the Scripture as a foundation if you aren’t going to adhere to it but instead contradict it? Let the Word be your foundation and the Rock on which you stand, not anyone’s opinions, even your own.
Therefore, search the Scriptures diligently daily with great earnest that you might not be led astray by anyone even your own flesh.
Peace. Love. Go Forth and Build A Foundation On The Word.
