His Laughter and Joy

“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.” ~ Job 8:21

Though our momentary troubles seem to last a lifetime, yet in our season, God will fill our mouth with laughter and our hearts with joy. For His love toward us is great. Don’t give up hope, cling to it in times of great troubles and distress. When we lose a loved one. When we lose a job. When we feel lost and confused, and God seems to be far away. Cling to Him. Search for Him. Call out His name. Because He hasn’t forgotten you, He’s just waiting for your invitation to come in.

Thank you Father, for the promise of hope, for Your promises never fail. You are the God of the new. So, Oh LORD God, create in us new joy. Create in us new hope that cannot be easily rattled. That cannot be easily shaken. That will be able to withstand any obstacle set before us, oh LORD. Remember Your promises, and bring laughter and joy into our lives once again. In Jesus name, amen.

Be Comforted

For all who’s heart aches with pain, you are not alone. The LORD has not forgotten you. You haven’t slipped His mind. He is right next to you with His arm wrapped around you. May you feel His love surrounding you. May you be comforted. May you have peace.

God Knows Where You Are

The LORD said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering” ~ Exodus 3:7

Have you been crying out to God? Has He not answered yet? Maybe you feel like He doesn’t love you or even care about you. Please be assured God HAS heard your cries, and He IS concerned about you. The time will come when He will rend the heavens and come down to see about you. The LORD God will send you a deliverer, someone who is in a position to help you or to open a now closed door. He may send someone just to encourage you, to lift up your spirit, or to let you know you are not alone. Make no mistake, God knows where you are. Keep trusting, keep doing good, keep on keeping the faith, and know for sure your good deeds are not in vain in the LORD.

Heavenly Father, I pray for persistent faith today. The type of faith that overcomes all adversities crushes all obstacles and that cannot be moved but can move mountains. LORD revive the faith that maybe dying or have died and breathe life into our dry and thirsty souls. Let Your Holy Spirit be known and let no doubt remain for it is profitable to serve You. In Jesus name, I pray, amen.

He Hears Your Groaning

“The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God… ‘I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant.’” ~ Exodus 2:23; 6:5

The Israelites were in misery, and they cried out to God, and He heard their cry and saw their misery and came to their rescue. I ask you, will He do any less for you? The only right answer is, “No, He won’t.” Keep crying out to God. He hears and sees, and He is concerned about you. So don’t be fooled into interpreting God’s (perceived) slowness to answer your prayers, for His lack of concern. God is concerned, and He cares for you, you are not a number or a statistic to Him. You are His child redeemed with His own shed blood. You are special, there is only one you and God wants you to be with him for all eternity. Don’t give up, in time God will come to your rescue and your victory will be sweet.

My Heavenly Father, many are groaning under the torment of others. Still, others are oppressed and harassed by the enemy. Even more, still are under the bondage of the evil one. Men and women are crying out to You for help today. Hear their cry, listen to their groaning, see their distress, and be moved with compassion and concern for them as You were moved for Your people, the Israelites. Come down and rescue them I prayer, and give them strength to hold on for a little while longer. Let them not lose heart or give up too soon, but keep them strong and faithful. For It is You who strengthens or weakens, it is You who exalt or abase, it is You who gives and takes away, it is You who rescues, and no one can deliver out of Your hand. Give peace today and bring deliverance in Jesus name I pray, amen.

Faith Increase

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. ~ Luke 17:5

Jesus was teaching on forgiveness when His disciples asked for an increase in faith. Jesus addresses the request by talking about a mustard seed faith. He was saying, “It’s not the amount of faith you have that is important, because just a small amount can do great and unbelievable things.” So it is not the amount of faith per se, but putting that faith into action. Even the smallest of seeds can grow into the largest of trees, but first it has to be planted. No matter how many seeds you have, how big or small they may be, if you don’t plant them, they will never grow. Same with faith, you could have the tiniest amount of faith, but as long as you use it, it will grow, and you will see things happen.

Heavenly Father, please look down today in love, and help us to put the measure of faith we have been given into action. Help us to use what we have now to increase what we will have in the future, in Jesus name, amen.

Encourage One Another

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” ~ Philippians 4:8

Paul is encouraging the Philippians to think about positive things as opposed to negative things. God is a God of possibilities. Therefore His people should always be positive. Don’t you feel drained whenever you are around people who are always negative? The very atmosphere around them feels negatively charged. We tend to gravitate towards more positive people. Why?

Because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. We are more than conquerors. We are mighty upon the earth because we are children of the Most High God. Let’s make an extra effort to be positive and to encourage each other no matter how bleak things may appear.

Heavenly Father, I pray for a mighty move of Your Spirit in the lives of Your children today. May they be a source of encouragement to those around them, in Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Fathers

“And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .” ~Joshua 24:15

Today we honor our fathers. The men in our lives who lead us. Who teach us. Who guide us. The men who protect us from the monsters under our beds and closets. The men who pick us up when we fall off our bikes, or in my case find a way to get 12 feet down off a ledge to rescue me from falling into the water.

Father’s do so much for us. They teach our young boys how to grow into young men. They teach young girls that they are princesses and how they deserve to be treated as a young woman by young men. They teach and guide us when we’re children. My Dad was and is and will always be the best Dad in the world! (I’m not biased or anything, just truthful)

Just as Joshua led his family to follow the LORD, our fathers today need to continue in this example. Dads are the head of the household, but in our day and age, we have turned this into a negative, anti-woman, toxic-masculinity problem. We have tried to destroy the roll of a Dad. When we get rid of the father, you get rid of the head. Without a head, you are running around without knowing where you are going. We have less and less highschool graduates, and more and more alcoholics, drug addicts, womanizers, criminals, etc. Without a Father, the household breaks down.

Fathers, you are not replaceable. You are not unnecessary. You are not useless. You are needed. You are wanted. And we are grateful for all the amazing things you do. Let’s not get rid of Fathers and their roles in our lives, but let us, especially today, honor our Fathers and be thankful for them. For those who grew up without a father or a good father, strive to be the kind of father that you wanted as a child. Be the protector, the rescuer, the leader, the head of the household, and the SUPERHERO.

Be Like Sodom

21 Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. 22 But I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day of judgment for Tyre and Sidon than for you. 23 And you, Capernaum, will you be exalted to heaven? You will be brought down to Hades. For if the mighty works done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. 24 But I tell you that it will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom than for you.” ~ Matthew 11:21-24

Can you learn anything from Sodom? It is better to live in sin, without knowing the Truth, than to hear the Truth and refuse to change.

Sodom was such a wicked city that God Himself went down to see if the cries of the people, against Sodom, were true. When they were found to be true, He sent two angels to destroy Sodom and everything in it.

Imagine how wicked Capernaum must have been to have seen the miracles of Jesus, be face to face with God Himself, and yet refuse to repent. When He compared them to Sodom, He said Sodom would have repented. Then He took it a step further saying, Sodom would be better off on the day of judgment than them.

So where do we stand? Are we those who have seen the Truth, know the Truth, witnessed the Truth, but refuse to repent because of our fleshly desires? Or are we like Sodom would have been, filled with wickedness, deserving complete destruction, but hear the Truth, See the Truth, Learn the Truth, know the Truth, and repent?

The things of this world will not last. For even the Earth, skies, and seas will pass away, but our souls are eternal. We will spend eternity in one place, either the New Earth or The Lake of Fire. Right now, we can’t understand the pains of Hell, nor can we understand the renewal and peace of The New Earth. And even more so we can’t fathom eternity. We can’t understand a timeless place.

To put it into perspective, have you ever been burned? Have you ever felt the heat of fire on your skin? Imagine that pain that felt. The excruciating, nail-biting pain. Now imagine that pain lasting 30 seconds. Then 1 minute. 2 minutes. It becomes unbearable and if the flame is hot enough, you could pass out from the pain.

Those measly 2 minutes don’t even put a dent in eternity. Eternity has no end. Eternity there is no death. There is no passing out. There is taking a break. It’s like a constant fire that burns your entire body. You stay in constant torment. Your mouth thirsts for water, but it can’t have not one drop. What is a few years of giving up your fleshly desires that will never satisfy you, when it compares to eternity? Don’t give up your eternal peace, for a few moments of pleasure that won’t last. If Sodom were here during the time of grace, they would have repented when they heard the Truth.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Like Sodom… Would Have Been.

Become Paul

10 Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” 11 And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man of Tarsus named Saul, for behold, he is praying, 12 and he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” 13 But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to your saints at Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.” 15 But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the children of Israel. ~ Acts 9:10-15

Saul, better known to us as Paul, was one of the greatest enemies of the early Church. Ananias was called to go to him but was afraid. He had heard stories of the evil Saul had done. He couldn’t see passed who Saul was in that moment. He couldn’t see why God would choose him. A lot of the times we’re a mixture of Saul and Ananias. We’ve done so much evil that we can’t see how God can use us. We’ve lied. We’ve murdered. We’ve lived in sexual sin. We’ve stolen. We’ve done evil in the sight of the LORD, and the Ananias in us can’t see the Saul in us becoming the Paul.

We’ve heard the stories and we’ve heard the sermons, but we still wonder, ‘Does God want me?’ Simply put, yes. No matter what you’ve done. No matter how far you’ve strayed, God still wants you. God can still use you. God used a man who murdered the Christians to be, arguably, the greatest apostle who ever lived. If God could take Saul and make him Paul, why can’t He use you? God can use anyone, there’s no one too dirty for God to use. It’s up to you to let Him in and use you.

Mother

20 The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living. ~ Genesis 3:20

This one simple verse shows us just how important mothers are. Without mothers, there would be no us. There would be no one. We would be extinct. Mothers give birth to us, feed us, clothe us, hold us, love us, they’re our safe place. Mothers stay up with us when we’re sick and do everything in their power to make us better again. Mothers aren’t going out of style. Mothers can’t be replaced.

Today I urge you to love your mothers. Show them as much love as you can, while you still can. If your mother has passed on, honor her today. If you are a mother, thank you for all that you do! May God Bless you, keep you, make His face to shine down upon you, may He clothe you in wisdom and splendor, may His favor go with you in all your endeavors, and may His Holy Spirit never leave you. May God Bless you and your loved ones this Mother’s Day!
