5 Then the Lord came down in a cloud and stood there with him; and He called out His own name, Yahweh. 6 The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. 7 I lavish unfailing love to a thousand generations. I forgive iniquity, rebellion, and sin. But I do not excuse the guilty. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children and grandchildren; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations.” ~ Exodus 34:5-7NLT
The LORD went out before Moses calling out His own name. He then went on to call out His own attributes before Moses as well. The LORD wasn’t just describing Himself for Moses. He wasn’t just calling out His name for fun. The LORD was clearing the path before Moses. He knew and understood the power of His name. Solomon describes the name of the LORD like this:
10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10
The LORD was protecting Moses from all that was before him, even what he could not see. When Jesus came, He did more than just say His name before us, He broke every chain that tied us down. He defeated every obstacle that we’ve ever had, or ever will have. Jesus then ascended to Heaven and sent His Holy Spirit to abide with us and in us.
19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Luke 10:19
We have nothing to fear because God Himself is with us, in us, and has covered us in His perfect and Holy blood. We are washed clean and empowered by the Holy Spirit. So, boldly walk into your promised land. Boldly fight for your dreams and your call because the LORD is fighting for you. He’s already cleared your path, you just have to try.
Peace. Love. Go Forth and Walk The Prepared Way.
