Escape the Fiery Flames

11 Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, ~ Ezekiel 33:11

God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He does not want anyone to die and go to the Lake of Fire for all eternity. It is a place where:

The flames are never quenched. The worm does not die. Anguish and pain never cease. Complete and total darkness unlike anything on earth. Thirst and hunger are never satisfied. There’s never-ending suffering and torment—uncontrollable grief and sorrow. There is no peace, no joy, no comfort, nothing but loneliness, pain, and regret.

But you don’t have to go there. God doesn’t want you there, and neither do we. Here is how you can avoid a place like that. Accept Jesus and His free gift of salvation. Maybe you have never heard of Jesus. Or maybe you have never understood what it is that Jesus offers us.

Well, we were all destined to die and go to hell or the Lake of Fire. The only thing that could save us was a pure, unblemished sacrifice. So, Jesus, the Son of God, volunteered to shed His own precious, sinless blood, a sacrifice that was without spot or wrinkle. He chose to take all of the sins of the world on Himself and to die that we might have life.

But on the third day, He rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us. And one day, He is coming back for us. And that day is very, very soon. To receive His salvation, all you have to do is ask Him. If you are ready to ask Him for forgiveness and to make a commitment to live for Him, pray this prayer with me.

LORD Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Help me to live my life for You, that I might escape the fiery flames of death and enter into eternal life on that Great Day. Fill me with You Holy Spirit that I might be molded into Your perfect and holy image as Adam was created in Your perfect and holy image. Give me a heart of flesh for my heart of stone that I might desire good and not evil. Be with me now, LORD God. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
