Put On Your Gospel of Peace

15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. ~ Ephesians 6:15

Paul tells us to put shroud our feet with the gospel of peace, but why our feet? Why not our mind? Could it be because Jesus gave us the gospel of peace so we can walk on stable ground in an unstable world? Even if everything else around us is in chaos, at least the ground we walk on is sturdy, never changing. So we don’t have to worry about the troubles of the world, but instead we can literally walk with/on peace. In this time of fear, anxiety, and panic we can hold to the promises of God and put on the Gospel of Peace as Paul instructed.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Put On Your Gospel of Peace.

Choose Life

22 When I led your ancestors out of Egypt, it was not burnt offerings and sacrifices I wanted from them. 23 This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’” ~ Jeremiah 7:22-23

Sin now and repent later, is what a lot of us live by. Often times we feel if we try, we’ve done enough. If we intend to follow Jesus, but don’t, that’s okay He understands. Or maybe just tithe a little extra this week if we mess up. But that’s not what God wanted. From the beginning God didn’t want to establish burnt offerings and sacrifices, He wanted to establish a relationship with us. When He created Adam, He gave Him a command, not so He could control Adam, but so He could protect him from death. God didn’t come down and order Adam around, no, instead He walked and talked with him. God desired a relationship with His creation and He still does, but we demand sacrifices and burnt offerings, because we refuse to stay alive.

Through Jesus, there is life; through sin, there is death. Yet we choose death each time and then present burnt offerings and sacrifices, instead of simply accepting the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. Why don’t we accept His sacrifice? Why would we rather death? Eternal Life has been bought for us and freely given to us, so why do we keep choosing death? God never wanted us to die, He even sent His one and only Son to take our punishment so that we may live. So live.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Choose Life.

Accept Your New Life

“Again and again the Lord has sent you His servants, the prophets, but you have not listened or even paid attention. Each time the message was this: ‘Turn from the evil road you are traveling and from the evil things you are doing. Only then will I let you live in this land that the Lord gave to you and your ancestors forever. ~ Jeremiah 25:4-5

Often times we expect God to bring us into promised land while we are still living in sin. We expect God to promote us to the next level, whether it’s in life, spiritually, emotionally, in our job, when we aren’t following Him. How can we expect God to continuously bless us, when we can’t even love Him? Jesus said, “if you love me, you will keep my commands.” And yet we follow our own desires, our own way, and get mad at God when we don’t succeed. When we aren’t entering our promised land, or we can’t stay in our promised land.

Our promised land is where Jesus is, and where Jesus is there can be no sin. So how can we expect to be with Jesus while we replace Him with false gods/idols by following our own lustful/selfish desires? We expect to treat Jesus however we want and for Him to sit there and take it, while still blessing us. How many of us would allow someone to disrespect us, cheat on us, spit in our face and still give them all of our time, affection, love, money, etc.? None of us would, so why do we expect Jesus to?

Jesus isn’t trying to control us, He’s trying to protect us from ourselves. He doesn’t withhold good from us, He’s trying to protect us from the death of sin. Jesus is trying to cleanse us and make us whole. He’s trying to give us life and new more abundant life, so why don’t we accept it?

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Accept Your New Life.

Don’t Separate Yourself From God

“Then all the military leaders, including Johanan son of Kareah and Jezaniah son of Hoshaiah, and all the people, from the least to the greatest, approached Jeremiah the prophet. They said, ‘Please pray to the Lord your God for us. As you can see, we are only a tiny remnant compared to what we were before. Pray that the Lord your God will show us what to do and where to go.’” ~ Jeremiah 42:1-3NLT

The people of Judah had turned to other gods, other desires, other teachings, and had forgotten their first love. When they were afraid of the Babylonians, they were prepared to leave and go to a land that they were never meant to return to. When they went to the Prophet Jeremiah, they asked him to pray to the LORD his God. Did you catch that? They separated themselves from The LORD God. From the only God.

They had strayed so far, that they had fallen asleep spiritually. They no longer had that connection to God. Instead, they had replaced that connection with other false gods and idols. How many of us have drifted off into a spiritual sleep that we no longer have a connection to God? That we can no longer relate to God as our God?

Turn to God. Repent. And He will awaken you. He will protect you. And He will set you free from all of your troubles, pain, hurt, sadness, sins. He will take it all from you, just call out His Name.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Stop Separating Yourself From God.

How Desperate Are You?

“When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that He was back home. Soon the house where He was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While He was preaching God’s word to them, four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat. They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above His head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” ~ Mark 2:1-5 NLT

The house was packed. There was no way in, but that didn’t stop them. That didn’t discourage them, they were determined to find a way to Jesus. They climbed on a roof with a paralyzed man on a mat, dug a hole in the roof, and proceeded to lower the paralyzed man down into the hole so that he could be at the feet of Jesus.

Imagine how desperate they most’ve been in order to do that for another person. The faith they must’ve had to do that for another person. How much desire do we have to get to Jesus just for ourselves? They didn’t give up when they saw there was no way in, they climbed the roof and made their own way in. We don’t even make the effort to meet Him in our own home. We don’t have to fight the crowds to hear Him, the Holy Spirit had it all written down for us. We don’t have to fight the government in order to worship our God, we have that freedom, yet we don’t take it.

Our faith has shifted. Our desires have shifted. We no longer desire to hear the Word of God because God would rather us to be happy than to be stressed with what we should and shouldn’t do. We push God away, refuse to talk to Him, and refuse to hear from Him, then we say that it’s because that’s how He would want it. But look at Jesus’ reaction, “Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man, ‘My child, your sins are forgiven.’” You think there would be forgiveness and healing if they hadn’t found a way to Jesus? There is no place other than Jesus that you can find freedom. He is our one source of salvation, peace, healing, life we cannot find those things anywhere else, yet we don’t go to Him. Why? Why do take Him for granted and push Him away? Imagine if we all found our way in to get to Jesus. Imagine the healing, the peace, the new life we would all receive.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and How Desperate Are You?

Believe In Your Forerunner

19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” ~ Hebrews 6:19-20

During this pandemic God hasn’t forgotten us. God hasn’t turned away. He’s still watching over us. Jesus Himself has gone before us behind the curtain on our behalf. It may feel like the world is falling apart and everyone is ready to turn on each other, but Jesus hasn’t turned on us. He’s still praying on our behalf. God is still on His throne and still in control. So don’t lose hope in a time that seems so hopeless, because Jesus is watching out for us and praying on our behalf.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Believe In Your Forerunner.

Give Thanks For All You Have

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” ~ Philippians 4:6-7

We pray for peace of mind, but do we know how to actually receive the peace that Jesus promised us? Let’s look at these verses one more time. Pray, tell God what you need, then thank Him for all He has done. Did you catch that? We need to thank God first, then we will receive God’s peace. Peace that the world cannot give and peace that world cannot take away.

We’re really good at asking God for help, but are we good at thanking Him for all that He does for us? God isn’t a genie that we just ask for things and He gives it to us. God is a person that is seeking a relationship with us, His Children. So during this pandemic don’t forget to give thanks to God for all that He has done for you and has given you, and He will give you His peace.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Give Thanks For All You Have.

Move In The Spiritual

“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” ~ Ephesians 6:12

Right now, we have one common enemy, COVID-19. If all good things come from above from the Father of Lights, then all bad things must come from The Accuser. Therefore, this COVID-19 is not from God, but from our enemy, and we must fight it. How do we do that? We pray against it. When we pray, things happen in the Spiritual that manifests itself in the Physical.

When in Peter was in prison, and they began to pray, an angel freed him. When Elisha saw the young boy dead, he prayed for him, and the boy began to breathe again. When we pray, things happen. So no matter how silly it may sound, or how hopeless things may look, pray for the things that need to come to pass, and we shall see the physical move.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Start In The Spiritual.

Do Not Be Afraid

“Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, and do not fear, for your God is coming to destroy your enemies. He is coming to save you.’” ~ Isaiah 35:4 NLT

When God is for you who can be against you? Including any virus. If we humble ourselves before Him and ask for His help, He will come to our rescue and save us. He will destroy our enemy, because we are His children and He is our God.

So don’t be afraid of this virus, for God is still God. He will come at the right moment, if we seek Him and pray, to save us.

Call For Peace

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you His peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.” ~ 2 Thessalonians 3:16 NLT

In every situation our God is still the God of Peace. He doesn’t change. He’s still seated upon His throne. Even when you feel He’s gone quiet, He’s still there. When you feel He’s forgotten you, He’s still there. Call out to Him and He will give you peace. His peace. Peace the world cannot give and the world cannot take away.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Call For Peace.
