For six days, God created all of creation, and then, on the seventh day, God rested. God instituted this seventh day as holy and called it the Sabbath day. Hell is described as the Second Death because everyone who goes to Hell has died first; therefore, going to Hell would be the second death. It’s also referred to as the Lake of Fire because it’s like you have fallen into the hands of the Living God, who is a consuming fire. Hell is also described as a place of Outer Darkness, but why? 11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13 And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14 Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Hell is one of two eternal destinations that the Bible tells us about. Hell is called by multiple names, such as The Lake of Fire, Eternal Destruction, and The Second Death. The belief that God is made up of three separate persons (The Trinity Doctrine) with one mind, heart, and desire is the foundation of Christianity. Only one day a year is dedicated to remembering our fallen soldiers that gave their lives for our freedom. Many of us don’t even realize or truly grasp what we get this one day a year off for. Throughout the years, we can see a subtle decline in the strength of the Church. In the previous ages of the Church, there were miracles, signs, wonders, and healings. The gifts and fruit of the Spirit weren’t just evident; they were understood. But as time passes and society ‘progresses,’ we seem to regress as a Church. We’re no longer able to even see our prayers answered, much less see the power of God working in our lives. What does that mean for us? Is there no more power from God left for this generation of the Church? Are we programmed and intended to be weaker than previous generations of the Church? Are the gifts of the Spirit no longer working in our lives today? Are they just not meant for us?
