Repent For Forgiveness

24 And the king commanded, and those men who had maliciously accused Daniel were brought and cast into the den of lions—they, their children, and their wives. And before they reached the bottom of the den, the lions overpowered them and broke all their bones in pieces. ~ Daniel 6:24

King Darius commanded that the same men who had come into agreement to falsely accuse Daniel were to be thrown into the lions’ den. The same judgment that they laid out for Daniel was now theirs. But not just theirs alone, but their wives and their children as well.

Whatever you sow, that you shall also reap. There’s no way around it. Pay back ain’t no beach trip. It will cause you all you have and all you care about. You cannot mess with the children of God without offending God. But it’s never too late to repent. It’s never too late to come back to God, regardless of what you’ve done. God will forgive you, but only if you repent.

Seek Your Brother

17 A friend loves at all times,  and a brother is born for adversity. ~ Proverbs 17:17

A friend will stick by you when times are easy, but as soon as things become difficult, a friend will abandon you. They won’t be there for you. But when times are hard, a brother (or sister) will be there for you. They’ll fight for you and with you. A friend may be there when times are good, but what happens when things get hard? When the good times are over? They bail.

Jesus starts out as our friend, but as soon as adversity comes our way, He is still there. Why? Because He is now birthed into a brother. Jesus is waiting to grow His relationship with you. All you have to do is spend time with Him. Pray, worship, read your Bible, seek His face. Jesus may be everyone’s friend, but unless you seek Him out, how can He become your brother?

Overcome Through Christ

18b and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. ~ Matthew 16:18b

Ever since the time of Jesus and the inception of the Church, we have been under attack by our enemies. They have stomped and stomped, but stomp as they may, the gates of hell have never and will never prevail over the Church.

Trials and tribulations will come. Persecution and all manner of evil may come against you, but be encouraged today, because no matter what may come your way, the gates of Hell, the enemy, will never overcome you. For Christ has already overcome the world, and we overcome through Him.

Where There’s Desire

1Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through. 2A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy. 3He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd. 4So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see Him, since Jesus was coming that way. 5When Jesus reached the spot, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” 6So he came down at once and welcomed him gladly. ~ Luke 19:1-6

So often, we allow the littlest things to keep us from our call. When we see an obstacle in front of us, we don’t try to find a way through it or around it. Oftentimes, we just give up. We should take a lesson from Zacchaeus. We must be more determined and not let anything stop us from seeing Jesus. Don’t lose sight of your dream because someone else is discouraging you. Maybe they are a part of the crowd; they’ve seen Jesus; now it’s your turn, don’t let the crowd discourage you.

Where there is a desire
There is hope
Where there is hope
There is faith
Where there is faith
There are miracles

You didn’t get that. I’m saying you can’t keep doing the same old things you have always been doing and get different results. If desperate times call for desperate actions, then take intentional desperate actions. When you’re hungry for a move, then a move will come. It is those who hunger and thirst that will be filled. You have to have the desire.

Go Ye Into All The World

16 Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. ~ Matthew 10:16

Jesus said that He was sending His disciples out amongst wolves. Today, He is still sending His disciples out amongst wolves, in His command, “Go ye into all the world …”

We are commanded to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.

And the wolves are ravenous out there, and even more so as the end of time approaches. So, don’t just take their word for it. Don’t just believe it is all about you and your best interest; look at the facts and do what is right for you, no matter the consequences. Do what is right for you and what is right for your family in the sight of Jesus.

Dear LORD, help me to be as wise as serpents and innocent as doves, that our character may not even be questioned as Daniel’s wasn’t. Help me to learn to use our two greatest weapons, Your precious blood and the word of our testimony. Teach me to go out into all the earth and not fall into the traps of the evil one. Be with me in everything I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Man of Integrity

Then these men said, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God.” ~ Daniel 6:5

Imagine if the Church today had this type of integrity. Our two greatest weapons are the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony, yet we don’t use our testimony. We no longer preach change in the Church. We now only preach ‘come as you are,’ which is important. But we can’t leave as we are. We have to change. We can’t stay our old selves.

The Church has to begin to transform, starting with our minds. If we want to change our actions, we have to first change our thoughts. When we change our thoughts, then our actions will follow. After that, our testimony will be unshakeable, just as Daniel’s was.

Dear LORD, please help me to strive for perfection as You are perfect. Help me to build my spirit-man within me that I might not sin against You, for my spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. Strengthen me with Your precious Holy Spirit. Help me to be a great man/woman of integrity. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Flattering Lips

28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin. ~ Proverbs 26:28

Do not fall for every word of flattery you receive. Be wise. Weigh their words. If it is flattery, it will feel good. It will stroke your ego. It will fill you with pride, but it will not end well.

Flattery never ends in the best interest of the one being flattery. Instead, flattery always ends in ruin for the one being flattered. It is not in your best interest, no matter how important it makes you feel. No matter how good it makes you feel. Or how admired you think you are. Flattery is always in the best interest of the flatterer.

Flattery is just another form of manipulation. We are sheep amongst wolves, so be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.

LORD God, help me discern the deceitful words of the world around me. Open my eyes to the lies of the enemy. Teach me to love Your word that it might be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Be with me in everything that I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Overcome the World

1 But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.” ~ Acts 9:1-5

Saul didn’t physically persecute Jesus, yet when he persecuted the Christians, the followers of Christ, Jesus told him that he was persecuting Him. Why? Remember what Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.”

When people persecute you because of your faith, it’s not because they hate you. It’s because they hate He who sent you. Even if they cry that they love Jesus or the Father, but persecute His Church, then the love of God is not in them. Their hatred is not truly for you but for what you stand for. Who you are imitating. Who you have built your life on. That is who they truly hate.

So, when the world attacks you for following Jesus, don’t be discouraged. For Jesus was persecuted and even murdered, yet He overcame the world. And because He overcame, we will overcome as well.

Seek Truth

19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to Him, for He is your life and length of days… ~ Deuteronomy 30:19-20a

God has set before each one of us the choice of life or death. Blessing or cursing. He desperately wants us to choose life and blessings. I’ve met so many people who say when I ask them if they believe in God? They are like, “Yes, of course. I am a Christian. I’m a member of so and so church.”

The problem is, they are not living the life. They will drop the F-bomb like no tomorrow, or they are wreaking of alcohol. They don’t know the first thing about Scripture or what it says about holiness and righteousness. What I’m saying is, there is a right way to live and a wrong way to live. Choose the right way.

Just to believe that there is a God or that God exists is not enough. There is so much more.

LORD God, please help me to seek the Truth. Help me to seek the right way to live my life that I might not just love You in word or speech, but in action. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Escape the Fiery Flames

11 Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, ~ Ezekiel 33:11

God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He does not want anyone to die and go to the Lake of Fire for all eternity. It is a place where:

The flames are never quenched. The worm does not die. Anguish and pain never cease. Complete and total darkness unlike anything on earth. Thirst and hunger are never satisfied. There’s never-ending suffering and torment—uncontrollable grief and sorrow. There is no peace, no joy, no comfort, nothing but loneliness, pain, and regret.

But you don’t have to go there. God doesn’t want you there, and neither do we. Here is how you can avoid a place like that. Accept Jesus and His free gift of salvation. Maybe you have never heard of Jesus. Or maybe you have never understood what it is that Jesus offers us.

Well, we were all destined to die and go to hell or the Lake of Fire. The only thing that could save us was a pure, unblemished sacrifice. So, Jesus, the Son of God, volunteered to shed His own precious, sinless blood, a sacrifice that was without spot or wrinkle. He chose to take all of the sins of the world on Himself and to die that we might have life.

But on the third day, He rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us. And one day, He is coming back for us. And that day is very, very soon. To receive His salvation, all you have to do is ask Him. If you are ready to ask Him for forgiveness and to make a commitment to live for Him, pray this prayer with me.

LORD Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Help me to live my life for You, that I might escape the fiery flames of death and enter into eternal life on that Great Day. Fill me with You Holy Spirit that I might be molded into Your perfect and holy image as Adam was created in Your perfect and holy image. Give me a heart of flesh for my heart of stone that I might desire good and not evil. Be with me now, LORD God. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
