Follow in God’s Footsteps

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it. ~ Proverbs 22:6

In today’s world, so many young people are growing up without true role models. Their role models are celebrities, athletes, and other people who are far off and don’t know their names. I challenge you this Christmas to take the time out and mentor someone as God took the time to mentor you.

God could’ve left us on our own. He could’ve left us in our own filth and ignorance, but out of His own love for us, He set aside everything and became man. He took the form of an innocent baby, and every year at Christmas, we take the time to remember and celebrate His first sacrifice. We celebrate Him becoming our greatest mentor.

None of us were born knowing Christ; we all had to learn. We all had to be taught. We all had to be mentored.

Statics say that:

    • 55% of young adults with a mentor are less likely than their peers to skip a day of school
    • 78% – more likely to volunteer regularly
    • 90% – are interested in becoming a mentor themselves
    • 130% – are more likely to hold leadership positions

So many of us have become spiritually lazy and spiritually asleep that we don’t even see the impact that we could make in our own community. This Christmas, think about becoming a mentor. Don’t just give a physical gift and call it a day. Give something that is priceless, your time and knowledge of Christ. Let the tradition of self-sacrificing for the sake of another continue.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Follow in God’s Footsteps.

Go Tell It On The Mountain

10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” ~ Luke 2:10-12

God gave us the most precious gift of all that very first Christmas. He gave us Jesus Christ. In Him, there is salvation and everlasting life. There is freedom and rest. There is hope and joy. And the free gift that is Jesus is free for anyone who wants Him. And if we want Him and accept Him, He will not be taken away from us.

Now, don’t misunderstand me. I did not say we couldn’t give it up. I said it will not be taken from us.

They might ban Bibles in schools. They may outlaw prayer in government buildings. They may try to lockdown churches. They may try to prohibit praise and worship in our services, but they cannot take the free gift of salvation from us. No man can pluck us out of His hand.

This is a gift like none other. Don’t keep it to yourselves. Don’t keep the name of Jesus quiet and hidden from others. This is the time of hope and rejoicing, for Christ has come down to us and has not left us as orphans. This is the time we remember His birth, His first sacrifice. He left all He had, His throne, crown, and Godliness. He set everything aside for us. Don’t keep that to yourself. Tell everyone who will listen to the good news of Christ.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Go Tell It On The Mountain.

The First Christmas Gift

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: And the government shall be upon His shoulder: And His name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there shall be no end, Upon the throne of David, and upon His kingdom, To order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice From henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. ~ Isaiah 9:6–7

Therefore, Christmas is all about Giving, for a child was born, but a Son was given. God gave us an eternal Christmas present that very first Christmas. This is indeed the gift that keeps on giving because no matter when you are born, no matter where you are born, you still have the free opportunity to accept that eternal Christmas present. Christ was given, not just to the Jews, but to all of mankind. To everyone that will accept Him.

Why? Because we are living in a time that God has poured out His Spirit on all flesh. Not some. Not most. But all. Therefore, anyone who calls on the name of the LORD. No matter their bloodline. No matter their sin. No matter their past. ANYONE who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Accept The First Christmas Gift.

Proclaim the Good News

4 We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. 5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. ~ John 9:4-5

Jesus said that He and His disciples had to work the works of Him who sent Him. We, too, must work the works of Jesus, for the night is coming. The times are evil, and no one listens to our message anymore.

Christians no longer believe that the Great Commission is for them but for the Pastor alone. We only have a short time on this earth to achieve the maximum produce. And if so, we had better start working and doing what Jesus told us to do.

Go ye into all the world and proclaim the Good News.

This Christmas, let us proclaim to every tribe and every nation starting with our own. Let us win souls for the LORD.

Heavenly Father, thank You that You allow us to be a part of what You are doing. Help us to be bold in proclaiming the Good News. Open the spiritual eyes of those who are not serving You, and call them to Yourself. In Jesus Name, amen.

Follow The Paved Way

18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit. ~ Matthew 1:18

Notice, the angel told Joseph that the child that was conceived in her was from the Holy Spirit and not by the Holy Spirit. There was no actual sexual contact there as in Greek Mythology when the gods would come down and procreate with human women to produce children.

Jesus always was and will always be. He existed as the Word of God from eternity past, but when Mary was found to be with child, that Word became flesh or became a human being, as John’s Gospel declares.

We don’t serve a half-man, half-god. We don’t serve a demi-god. We don’t serve a man who became God. We serve the one and only true God who became flesh. Who came to earth as a baby that He might live as a man and overcome as a man so that we can then overcome through Him. Our God is unlike any other god. He is the God of gods. The King of kings. The LORD of lords. There is none like Him.

So be encouraged today. You don’t overcome on your own strength, but through the strength of Almighty God who paved the way.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Follow The Paved Way.

Return to Your Heavenly Father

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. ~ John 3:16

God loves everyone, but not everyone returns to the Father to receive their free gift of eternal life. So, yes, His love for us is Eternal. Psalms 136. It’s unconditional. Romans 5:7-8. But His love can only do so much.

His love is what allows us to return to Him and receive salvation, but His love for you won’t save you if you don’t come to Him. Just as the prodigal son couldn’t receive food, shelter, water, life without returning to his father, neither can we receive Eternal Life without returning to our Heavenly Father.

God’s love alone won’t save you. You have to make the conscientious decision to accept His love and abide in His love. Otherwise, we will remain outside of His love.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Return to Your Heavenly Father.

Be More Than Conquerors

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ~ Romans 8:37

We have been set free from the yoke of slavery of sin and have been granted the status of sons and daughters of God Almighty. So, we no longer have to give in to sin; but instead, we can overcome sin through Christ Jesus, for we overcome through the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony according to Revelation 12:10-11. We are not overcome, but we overcome through Christ Jesus, for we are more than conquerors. We are sons and daughters of God Most High.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be More Than Conquerors.

Seek Your Escape Route

1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-His good, pleasing and perfect will. ~ Romans 12:1-2

You were once a part of the world. You were once filled with sin. You were once a drunk. You were once an adulterer. You were once a liar. You were once a thief. You were once a homosexual. You were once a sinner. But that’s not who you are anymore.

The world will try to tell you that your past is your identity. Your own mind will try to tell you that your past is your identity, but it’s not once you accept Jesus. Once you accept that free gift of salvation, then you will see your true identity. The identity God intended you to have. I’m not saying that from that moment on, you will never be tempted again by these sins, and you will be perfectly happy. I’m not saying that.

I’m saying that it’s gonna take some work. Why? Because Paul tells us, we have to renew our minds. We have to change the way we think. There is no sin known to man that does not start with an idea or a thought. There’s a choice in everything, whether we see it or not. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to open our spiritual eyes that we may see our escape route.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Seek Your Escape Route.

Call the Mediator

25 If someone sins against a man, God will mediate for him, but if someone sins against the LORD, who can intercede for him? ~ 1 Samuel 2:25b

If we offend man, God will intercede for us, but if we offend God, who can intervene for us? For who can deliver out of His hand? We get so caught up in being friends with the world that we willingly offend God. We willingly slap Him in the face on behalf of the world.

Why does this matter? God is a loving, forgiving God. Let me just be straight and upfront. Jesus is coming back real soon. And there is a right way, and there is a wrong way to live. I suggest you find the right way so that when Jesus comes back, He will find you doing what you ought to be doing because who can deliver out of His hand? Who can protect you from His wrath? Who can undo your sins and pay your debt to Him?

So, the question is, are you doing what you ought to be doing? Are you on the right path? Are you ready for Jesus’ return? If not, you can be. All you have to do is ask, Jesus already did the heavy lifting. He died and paid the price so that you didn’t have to. He has become our mediator between man and God. It’s not too late. As long as your heart is beating in your chest, there is hope.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Call the Mediator.

Raise the Bar

17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty. ~ 2 Corinthians 6:17–18

We are no longer to mimic the things of this world or to participate in them. What am I talking about? I’m talking about being a Christian. Living a life of holiness. Not making excuses about Jesus is the only Holy One. Or Jesus is the only one who is good. Or no one is perfect except for Jesus.

No! We Strive for Holiness. We might not achieve it, but it’s not for the lack of trying. We ought not to accept anything less. Strive for perfection. Strive for holiness and stop the excuses. God said we are to be holy just like He is holy.

If we set the bar just to accept salvation, what happens if you miss it? You’d miss salvation altogether. You’d be condemned to Hell for all eternity separated from God Almighty. But if you set the bar at perfection and you miss that perfection, you’ll still land among righteousness. You can never aim too high for God to help you to reach.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Raise the Bar.
