The Little Dogs and The Syrophoenician Woman

Throughout the Gospels, Jesus heals anyone who comes to Him in faith. He healed Jew and non-Jew until He came across a certain gentile woman. When the Syrophoenician woman came before Jesus on behalf of her demon-possessed daughter, Jesus said these famous words, ‘It is not right to take theĀ children’sĀ breadĀ and throw it to the dogs.’ Why did Jesus call this woman and her daughter dogs? What does ‘dogs’ mean in the Bible? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to find the reason behind Jesus’ seemingly harsh response in her video, The Little Dogs and The Syrophoenician Woman.

The Little Dogs and The Syro-Phonecian Woman

24Ā And from there He arose and went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon.Ā And He entered a house and did not want anyone to know, yet He could not be hidden.Ā 25Ā But immediately a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit heard of Him and came and fell down at His feet.Ā 26Ā Now the woman was aĀ Gentile,Ā a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

27Ā And He said to her,Ā ā€œLet the children beĀ fed first, for it is not right to take the children’s bread andĀ throw it to the dogs.ā€Ā 28Ā But she answered Him, ā€œYes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’sĀ crumbs.ā€Ā 29Ā And He said to her,Ā ā€œFor this statement you mayĀ go your way; the demon has left your daughter.ā€Ā 30Ā And she went home and found the child lying in bed and the demon gone.

Mark 7:24-30

The Definition of Dogs in the Bible

What does ‘dogs’ mean in the Bible? Peter tells us that the term ‘dogs’ is used to define anyone who knows the ways of righteousness (are saved), yet returns to their old ways in the Bible.

20Ā For if,Ā after they have escaped the defilements of the worldĀ through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome,Ā the last state has become worse for them than the first.Ā 21Ā ForĀ it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back fromĀ the holy commandment delivered to them.Ā 22Ā What the true proverb says has happened to them: ā€œTheĀ dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.ā€

The Antichrist

an image of the antichrist video

The Antichrist is a key player in the End Times. According to Church Tradition, the Antichrist is the prophesied man who will rule the entire earth in a one-world government. He’ll wage war against anyone who doesn’t bow down and worship him, but is this true? What does the Bible say about the coming Antichrist? Is he a sign of the end? The Antichrist

Contrary to popular belief, the word antichrist can’t be found anywhere in the book of Revelation. So where is antichrist found in the bible? It’s found five times in four verses in 1 and 2 John. John actually says that the coming of antichrist is a sign of the end.

18Ā Children,Ā it is the last hour, and as you have heard thatĀ antichrist is coming, so nowĀ many antichrists have come.Ā Therefore we know that it is the last hour.Ā 19Ā They went out from us, but they were not of us; forĀ if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out,Ā that it might become plain that they all are not of us.Ā 20Ā But you have beenĀ anointed byĀ the Holy One, andĀ you all have knowledge.

21Ā I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.Ā 22Ā Who is the liar butĀ he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This isĀ the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.Ā 23Ā No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.Ā 24Ā LetĀ what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, thenĀ you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.

Can You Lose Your Salvation?

Jesus told us to abide in Him, and He would abide in us. So, therefore, if we believe and repent, then we are now abiding in Him. But what happens if we turn away from Jesus? More Verses on Losing Your Salvation:

3Ā But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4Ā For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or if you accept a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it readily enough.

2 Corinthians 11:3-4

6Ā I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7Ā not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

Galatians 1:6-7

1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2Ā through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, 3Ā who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4Ā For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5Ā for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

1 Timothy 4:1-5

6Ā Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7Ā Therefore do not become partners with them; 8Ā for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9Ā (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10Ā and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11Ā Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.

Ephesians 5:6-11

6Ā Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7Ā rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving. 8Ā See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.

7Ā Now war arose in heaven,Ā Michael andĀ his angels fighting against the dragon. Does God Love Everyone?

We often hear that God loves everyone, so we don’t have to worry about living in sin. But is that true? Does God really love everyone? And if He does, what does that love do for us? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to finally find an answer to these questions in her video, Does God Love Everyone?

Does God Love Everyone?

16Ā ForĀ God so lovedĀ the world,Ā that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should notĀ perish but have eternal life.Ā 17Ā ForĀ God did not send His Son into the worldĀ to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.Ā 18Ā Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has notĀ believed in the name of the only Son of God.

19Ā And this is the judgment:Ā the light has come into the world, andĀ people loved the darkness rather than the light becauseĀ their works were evil.Ā 20Ā For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light,Ā lest his works should be exposed.Ā 21Ā But whoeverĀ does what is trueĀ comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.

John 3:16-21

1 I Ā am theĀ true vine, and my Father isĀ the vinedresser.Ā 2Ā Every branch in me that does not bear fruitĀ He takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit He prunes,Ā that it may bear more fruit.Ā 3Ā AlreadyĀ you are cleanĀ because of the word that I have spoken to you.Ā 4Ā AbideĀ in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

5Ā I am the vine;Ā you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is thatĀ bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.Ā 6Ā If anyone does not abide in meĀ he is thrown away like a branch and withers;Ā and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned.Ā 7Ā IfĀ you abide in me, and my words abide in you,Ā ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.Ā 8Ā By this my Father is glorified, that youĀ bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.Ā 9Ā As the Father has loved me,Ā so have I loved you. Abide in my love.Ā 10Ā If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just asĀ I have keptĀ my Father’s commandments and abide in his love.

Communion: Why The Bread Before The Wine?

We take Communion very ritualistically, but why? Why does it matter if we take the bread before the wine? If we’re running a race, don’t we need liquid before we need food? What was Jesus explaining to us during the Last Supper? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to find an answer to these questions.

Communion: Why The Bread Before The Wine?

Jesus was very specific in leading the first communion during the Last Supper. He gave the bread before He gave the wine. Paul brings to remembrance this exact event, explaining that we are now declaring the LROD’s death until He returns.

26Ā Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, andĀ after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said,Ā ā€œTake, eat;Ā this is my body.ā€Ā 27Ā And he took a cup, and when heĀ had given thanks he gave it to them, saying,Ā ā€œDrink of it, all of you,Ā 28Ā forĀ this is myĀ blood of theĀ covenant, which is poured out forĀ manyĀ for the forgiveness of sins.Ā 29Ā I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with youĀ in my Father’s kingdom.ā€

Matthew 26:26-29

23Ā ForĀ I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, thatĀ the Lord Jesus on the night when He was betrayed took bread,Ā 24Ā and when He had given thanks, He broke it, and said,Ā ā€œThis is my body, which is forĀ you. Do this in remembrance of me.ā€ 25Ā In the same way also He took the cup, after supper, saying,Ā ā€œThis cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.ā€Ā 26Ā For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s deathĀ until He comes.

Communion: Why The Flesh & The Blood?

As Christians, we take communion as a ritual, not really understanding the purpose and significance of the bread and the wine. We understand it represents Jesus’ body and His blood, but do we understand the why? Join us as we discuss the meaning of the eating the flesh and drinking the blood of Christ Jesus.

Matthew 26:27-28

Matthew 4:4

Communion: Why The Flesh & The Blood?

Communion is the symbolic ritual of eating bread and drinking wine (or grape juice) in remembrance of Christ. Jesus explained the necessity for communion to the Jews before the Last Supper even took place.

ā€œ50Ā This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of itĀ and not die.Ā 51Ā I am the living breadĀ that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will giveĀ for the life of the world isĀ my flesh.ā€

52Ā The Jews thenĀ disputed among themselves, saying,Ā ā€œHow can this man give us his flesh to eat?ā€Ā 53Ā So Jesus said to them,Ā ā€œTruly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh ofĀ the Son of Man and drink his blood, youĀ have no life in you.Ā 54Ā Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my bloodĀ has eternal life, andĀ I will raise him up on the last day.Ā 55Ā For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.ā€

The Angel of The LORD

The Angel of The LORD (AKA The Angel of God) is a mysterious and frightening being in the Old Testament. Is he a regular angel? Is he a special angel? Is he an angel at all? What is he? The Angel of the LORD

7Ā The angel of theĀ LordĀ found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way toĀ Shur.Ā 8Ā And he said, ā€œHagar, servant of Sarai, where have you come from and where are you going?ā€ She said, ā€œI am fleeing from my mistress Sarai.ā€Ā 9Ā The angel of theĀ LordĀ said to her, ā€œReturn to your mistress and submit to her.ā€Ā 10Ā The angel of theĀ LordĀ also said to her,Ā ā€œI will surely multiply your offspring so that they cannot be numbered for multitude.ā€Ā 11Ā And the angel of theĀ LordĀ said to her,

ā€œBehold, you are pregnantĀ and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael,Ā because theĀ LordĀ has listened to your affliction. 12Ā He shall beĀ a wild donkey of a man,Ā his hand against everyoneĀ and everyone’s hand against him, and he shall dwellĀ over against all his kinsmen.ā€

13Ā So she called the name of theĀ LordĀ who spoke to her, ā€œYou are a God of seeing,ā€Ā for she said,Ā ā€œTruly here I have seen him who looks after me.ā€

Genesis 16:7-13

1 Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, theĀ mountain of God.Ā 2Ā AndĀ the angel of theĀ LordĀ appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed.

3Ā And Moses said, ā€œI will turn aside to see this great sight, why the bush is not burned.ā€Ā 4Ā When theĀ LordĀ saw that he turned aside to see,Ā God called to himĀ out of the bush, ā€œMoses, Moses!ā€ And he said, ā€œHere I am.ā€Ā 5Ā Then he said, ā€œDo not come near;Ā take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.ā€Ā 6Ā And he said,Ā ā€œI am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.ā€ And Moses hid his face, forĀ he was afraid to look at God.

Exodus 3:1-6

The Summary

Just to clarify, we believe that the Angel of The LORD is Jesus because of the way people react to Him, He accepted worship, and both of their names are Wonderful. The reason these things are important is because these are all attributes unique to God. We believe that The Trinity is made up of three separate beings (Yahweh, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit) that make up one being, God. We believe that the Angel of The LORD is another name for Jesus, as is, The Christ, The Son of God, Prince of Peace, The Word of The LORD, and more.

Can Christians Celebrate Halloween?

Halloween in the Bible

The origins of Halloween are in the occult, specifically the pagan festival of Samhain. Therefore, why are Christians celebrating this pagan festival? Because if it is pagan, then it isn’t of God. If it isn’t of God, then it is evil. Therefore, why are Christians celebrating and participating in Halloween if it’s evil?

14 Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? and you shall be sons and daughters to me,

The Occult

As time goes on, we’ve noticed a shift in our culture. Things that were once weird, taboo, odd, creepy, dangerous, scary, evil are now normal, fun, empowering, inspiring, progressive, and positive. Things of the Occult once hid in the shadows, but now they have made their way to the forefront, making their presence known to all. Casting spells on the President is applauded instead of appalled. Marching as the Whore of Babylon is empowering instead of destructive. Playing the Ouija Board is an enlightening game for young children, instead of a dangerous door opener to the demonic. Witchcraft has been brought to the forefront and normalized in our society.

Horoscopes

10Ā You felt secure in your wickedness; you said, ā€˜No one sees me’; your wisdom and your knowledge led you astray, and you said in your heart, ā€˜I am, and there is no one besides me.’ 11Ā But evil shall come upon you, which you will not know how to charm away; disaster shall fall upon you, for which you will not be able to atone; and ruin shall come upon you suddenly, of which you know nothing. 12Ā Stand fast in your enchantments and your many sorceries, with which you have labored from your youth; perhaps you may be able to succeed; perhaps you may inspire terror.

13Ā You are wearied with your many counsels; let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon you. 14Ā Behold, they are like stubble; the fire consumes them; they cannot deliver themselves from the power of the flame. No coal for warming oneself is this, no fire to sit before! 15Ā Such to you are those with whom you have labored, who have done business with you from your youth; they wander about, each in his own direction; there is no one to save you.

Isaiah 47:10-15

The LORD is speaking to Babylon in this verse, telling them that all the things they thought would protect them, give them power, and take them to the next level, would actually be their downfall. The LORD even taunts them, saying, ā€œStand Fast in your enchantments and your many sorceries… perhaps you may be able to succeed… let them stand forth and save you, those who divide the heavens, who gaze at the stars, who at the new moons make known what shall come upon youā€¦ā€ Babylon’s sin isn’t just doing witchcraft, but also dividing the heavens and gazing up at the stars for things to be revealed to them. Does that sound like anything familiar? Maybe Horoscopes? Horoscopes are read daily by many people, including Christians, yet that would be one of the main things that incur the wrath of God upon Babylon. Are we incurring the wrath of God upon ourselves when we read our horoscopes?

Child Sacrifice

27Ā Then he [the king of Moab] took his oldest son who was to reign in his placeĀ and offered him for a burnt offering on the wall. And there came great wrath against Israel. And they withdrew from him and returned to their own land.

2 Kings 3:27

ā€œIf I had not had that abortion, I’m pretty sure there would have been no Fleetwood Mac,ā€ she said. ā€œThere’s just no way that I could have had a child then, working as hard as we worked constantly. And there were a lot of drugs, I was doing a lot of drugs … I would have had to walk away.

ā€œAnd I knew that the music we were going to bring to the world was going to heal so many people’s hearts and make people so happy,ā€ she continued. ā€œAnd I thought: you know what? That’s really important. There’s not another band in the world that has two lead women singers, two lead women writers. That was my world’s mission.ā€

The Washington Times (Friday, October 16, 2020) quoting Stevie Nicks

Today we don’t sacrifice our children on a direct alter outside. We don’t burn them in a fire. We murder them while they are still in our wombs. During the time of the Old Testament Prophets, they murdered their children to win a battle, gain control of other nations, world dominance, etc. Today, we murder our children for the sake of a band making music. Let me be very clear on this; there is no difference between murdering a baby outside of the womb and murdering a baby inside of the womb. The baby is a baby no matter where it is, no matter how small it is, and no matter how little anyone thinks of it. The baby is a human life, and to end that life is murder. Period.

If those of the Old Testament murdered their children and a spirit responded, when we murder our children wouldn’t those same spirits respond? If so, then wouldn’t abortion then be witchcraft? We sacrifice our children so that we can gain something that WE deem is more important. There is no reason to murder an innocent life. This is indeed witchcraft alive and well in our society. The only difference is we’ve painted it as healthcare and a civil right. Instead of throwing them in a fire, where everyone can hear their screams and their cries, we tear them limb from limb in the mother’s womb so no one can hear them cry and no one can see them try to squirm away. While the ancients were honest in their murder and called it for what it was and still is, child sacrifice, we’ve called it, Abortion.

The Occult in The New Testament

We all know the story of the Seven Sons of Sceva, they were Jewish Exorcists who heard of Paul and the miracles he was doing. So, they began invoking the name of Jesus, saying, ā€œI adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.ā€ But the evil spirit responded, ā€œJesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?ā€ And the man, whom the evil spirits were in, overcame them all, leaving them to run out of the home naked and wounded. But we often ignore what happened next.

17Ā And this became known to all the residents of Ephesus, both Jews and Greeks. And fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was extolled. 18Ā Also many of those who were now believers came, confessing and divulging their practices. 19Ā And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20Ā So the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail mightily.

Acts 19:17-20

This story led to those who had recently been practicing witchcraft or magic arts to not only give up that lifestyle but burn their books in the sight of all. Keep in mind those books weren’t cheap either, to give you a little idea of what they were worth, depending on the type of piece of silver, they could be worth anywhere from $5.5 million to $1.5 billion. Either way, those books were worth a lot of money, yet they saw the difference between right and wrong, and they burned their books and repented. If they, 2,000 years ago, saw a problem with magic arts and Christianity, why don’t we in today’s world? Why don’t we see the problem with mixing The Occult and Christianity?

The Occult Conclusion

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Neither can you have The Occult and Christianity, for what does light have in common with darkness? Choose today whom you shall serve, for tomorrow, is promised to no man. Today is the day of Salvation. Those who practiced magic arts, The Occult, saw the Truth could not be paired with a lie and repented. Nothing has changed; the Truth still cannot be paired with a lie. If you would like to accept your free gift of Salvation, all you have to do is repeat this prayer,

ā€œDear Jesus, please forgive me of my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. I accept Your free gift of Salvation and declare You as LORD of my life. Thank You for dying on the cross to save me. Thank You for Your forgiveness. In the Name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.ā€
