Join His Train

Therefore it says, ‘When He ascended on high He led a host of captives, and He gave gifts to men.’” ~ Ephesians 4:8

When Jesus died, that wasn’t the final story. He didn’t just sit in Hades twiddling His thumbs as He waited to be risen on the third day. No, He witnessed to those who were in Paradise with Him, such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Daniel, etc. All of those who had died, He witnessed to that they may have life as well.

See Jesus didn’t come to just save the living, but also the dead. He took the time to witness and release those who had died from the chains of Hades and death, and He will take the time to release you from the same chains that squeeze the life out of you. No matter how dead you are in your sin, if you listen you will be able to hear Jesus’ whisper to you in the wind to arise.

No matter how far a loved one has strayed, Jesus is still calling to them. While there is breath, no amount of Spiritual Death is too much for Jesus to overcome. He already defeated the grave, you only have to accept His hand to join His train of captives and awake.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Join His Train.

Look Forward

32 And they were on the road, going up to Jerusalem, and Jesus was walking ahead of them. And they were amazed, and those who followed were afraid. And taking the twelve again, He began to tell them what was to happen to Him, 33 saying, ‘See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him over to the Gentiles. 34 And they will mock Him and spit on Him, and flog Him and kill Him. And after three days He will rise.’” ~ Mark 10:32-34

Jesus never simply threw the disciples into the deep end without first teaching them to swim. What do I mean? Before anything took place, Jesus always warned them about it. Before He betrayed, before He was crucified, before His resurrection. Jesus always told them what was to come. And likewise, He has done the same with us.

Today on this Good Friday, let’s remember that Jesus foretold His death, but in doing so, He foretold the death of all of our sins. The moment He gave up His spirit, He took our sins with Him to the grave. In doing so He killed our sin, with His body. Let us rejoice for our sin was crucified with Christ. As it became hard for Him to breathe, He looked into the future and saw us. He saw you. He saw me. And He kept going. He could have easily called off His crucifixion at any time. He didn’t have to go through with it. He chose to go through with it. He chose to die so that our sin would die with Him. He chose the agony so that we wouldn’t have to.

So today take the time to say thank you Jesus. Because He didn’t take the easy way out when Satan offered it to Him on the mountain. He picked up His cross and He died so that you may be free today! Thank you Jesus for carrying your cross so that my cross wouldn’t be unbearable! Good Friday is a sobering day, it’s the day we remember Jesus’ death, but it is also the day we remember the death of our sin as we look forward to the resurrection of Jesus and in turn, the resurrection of our eternal lives.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Look Forward.

Avail Much

“The Lord hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.” ~ Psalms 34:17 NLT

We are currently in a pandemic that is not just affecting one nation or even one side of the Earth, but the entire Earth from East to West is affected by the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Many are scared, anxious, worried, weary, grieving, and sick. But God promised us that if we call on Him for help, He would rescue us from all of our troubles. So call on His name. Pray for a cure. Pray for the sick. Pray for this virus to cease to exist. It may sound like the last thing we should do, but prayer is always the first thing we should do.

The prayers of a righteous person availeth much. As a Church we could change our situation, if we would come together and pray. If we would pray in unison as they did in the Upper Room. Things shift in the Spiritual, when we move in the Physical.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Avail Much.

Stop Running

“By this we know love, that He laid down His life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.” ~ 1 John 3:16

John tells us that we know love by the way Jesus died for all of us. Let’s put that into perspective for a second. Every person that nailed/nails Him to the cross, He died for. Every person that shouted/shouts He isn’t real or He died for nothing, He died for. Every person that knowingly lives in sin, He died. Every person that walked away from Him, He died for. Jesus died for every single soul, because He saw worth when there was none. He saw beauty in ashes. He saw life in death.

So rejoice, for the LORD God sees you for what you truly are, His child. Some are still lost, while others have been found. Some are still running away, while others run to Him. But no matter how far you run, no matter how lost you are, and no matter what you’ve done Jesus is still waiting looking for you. He’s the good shepherd that leaves the 99 to save the 1. You can be that one. All you have to do is stop running and call out His name. He will run to you.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Stop Running.

Run To The King

And he preached, saying, ‘After me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.’” ~ Mark 1:7-8

During John’s ministry he preached that the Messiah would come, someone who he wasn’t even worthy to untie his sandals. Rejoice, for the Messiah has come and His name is Jesus. He saw you worthy enough that you didn’t have to stoop down and untie His sandals, but He stoop down and untie yours. Jesus saw you worthy enough to not only take your unbearable load that you carry around but to also give you His.

So rejoice. Have peace today on Palm Sunday. For the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world has come. He has given us life and life more abundantly. He has given us hope and a future. He has defeated death and the grave. And if you go to Him, He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit, healing every disease, plague, pain, trauma, grief, anger, disappointment that you have, if you let Him. So don’t be discouraged, your King has come and is waiting for you!

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Run To The King!

Our Spiritual Armor

“Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, and with your breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” – Ephesians 6:11-18.

What soldier goes to war without his equipment? And since the war we are fighting is a spiritual one, let us get spiritually ready with our spiritual armor on and march boldly into the enemy’s camp and take back that which he has stolen from us. Whenever you put on the spiritual armor, place each piece where it should go. For instance, when you put on the helmet of salvation, go ahead and place it on your head as if it was physical. Do this with each piece of equipment.

Then, let’s take back our families, our children, our peace, our joy, and our happiness. And don’t forget, let us also take back our finances, our health, our creativity. We are children of the Most High God. Therefore, we are more than conquerors! We are mighty upon the earth! We are victorious in His name!

Our Heavenly Father, I come to you this morning on behalf of the saints which are Your people. I pray for spiritual and financial breakthroughs today, for victories, and for peace. I pray for the unity of families and for favor at work. Give back to Your people what the devil has stolen from them, O’ our God, and place them in positions of authority that they may take their rightful place and bring You glory, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.

Hope In His Promises

“Remember your promise to me; it is my only hope.” ~ Psalms 119:49 NLT

In a time of chaos, panic, fear, and distress hope seems to have fled from us all. The news seems hopeless. The amount of people losing their jobs seems hopeless. But there is still hope in this current darkness. God’s promises are our hope. Our only hope.

He promised that if we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, He will forgive us and heal our land (2 Chronicles 7:14), so no virus can destroy our nation. He promised that by His stripes we ARE healed (1 Peter 2:24), so no virus has any power over us. He promised that He has plans to help us, make us prosperous, and not to harm us (Jeremiah 29:11), so no virus or chaos can displace us from His plan.

God promised us many things. Resurrection. Eternal Life. Peace. Love. Forgiveness. Hope in these things. Focus on these things. When the world tries to distract you with how scary times are right now, remember the promises of God and hold to them. Never lose hope. With hope anything is possible.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Hope In His Promises.

Ask For Help

“O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.” ~ Psalms 86:5 NLT

In this time of trouble let us remember that God is love. In other words, God’s love is never-ending, never-failing, eternal, and full of grace and forgiveness. So, let not your hearts grow weary or be anxious or fearful, instead let us call on our LORD God who is faithful in answering our cries. Hold to HOPE in this time of distress. Have faith that God will deliver us. Rely on the peace that Jesus has given us already.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Ask For Help.

Who Do You Say He Is?

“And Jesus went on with His disciples to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. And on the way He asked His disciples, ‘Who do people say that I am?’ And they told Him, ‘John the Baptist; and others say, Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.’ And He asked them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’ Peter answered Him, ‘You are the Christ.’ And He strictly charged them to tell no one about Him.” ~ Mark 8:27‭-‬30

We know what our friends say who they believe Jesus is. We know what our family members, pastors, teachers, favorite celebrities, etc. say who they believe Jesus is, but who do you say He is? Sometimes we forget to take a second and really figure out who we say Jesus is. It’s easy to get caught up in what our parents believe or what our Church believes, and never really take the time to decide what we believe.

Jesus asked His disciples who they believed He was because that was important. He had them differentiate between the beliefs of the disciples and the beliefs of the people. The beliefs of your parents, friends, church, or anyone else in your life won’t be able to help you on Judgment Day. No one can stand for you. You can’t piggyback on another person’s belief. You have to decide who you believe Jesus is. Because at the end of the day it can only be your beliefs that you are judged by, not anyone else’s.

If no one else believes that Jesus is LORD in your life except for you, don’t be afraid, ashamed, or discouraged. Instead be as bold as Peter declaring that Jesus was, is, and always will be the Christ. Stand firm in your faith and Jesus will be with you as you do.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Decide Who You Say He Is.

Where Do You Place Your Tust?

“We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His Holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.” ~ Psalms 33:20‭-‬22 NLT

When trouble comes, where do you turn first? When you are in distress, who do you go to? When you are afraid, who do you call on? You can tell who you trust and put your faith in, by the answers you give. God is the only one who can save us, so why do we do everything else before we call upon His name? Is it because we have a lack of faith?

God doesn’t change. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. Spend time with Him and you will learn who He is and what He can/will do for His children. Take courage in Him. Find hope in Him. Put your faith and trust in Him. Feel love from Him. Rejoice because of Him.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Place Your Trust In Him.
