Man of Integrity

Then these men said, “We shall not find any ground for complaint against this Daniel unless we find it in connection with the law of his God.” ~ Daniel 6:5

Imagine if the Church today had this type of integrity. Our two greatest weapons are the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of our Testimony, yet we don’t use our testimony. We no longer preach change in the Church. We now only preach ‘come as you are,’ which is important. But we can’t leave as we are. We have to change. We can’t stay our old selves.

The Church has to begin to transform, starting with our minds. If we want to change our actions, we have to first change our thoughts. When we change our thoughts, then our actions will follow. After that, our testimony will be unshakeable, just as Daniel’s was.

Dear LORD, please help me to strive for perfection as You are perfect. Help me to build my spirit-man within me that I might not sin against You, for my spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak. Strengthen me with Your precious Holy Spirit. Help me to be a great man/woman of integrity. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Flattering Lips

28 A lying tongue hates its victims, and a flattering mouth works ruin. ~ Proverbs 26:28

Do not fall for every word of flattery you receive. Be wise. Weigh their words. If it is flattery, it will feel good. It will stroke your ego. It will fill you with pride, but it will not end well.

Flattery never ends in the best interest of the one being flattery. Instead, flattery always ends in ruin for the one being flattered. It is not in your best interest, no matter how important it makes you feel. No matter how good it makes you feel. Or how admired you think you are. Flattery is always in the best interest of the flatterer.

Flattery is just another form of manipulation. We are sheep amongst wolves, so be as wise as serpents and as innocent as doves.

LORD God, help me discern the deceitful words of the world around me. Open my eyes to the lies of the enemy. Teach me to love Your word that it might be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Be with me in everything that I do. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Overcome the World

1 But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And He said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.” ~ Acts 9:1-5

Saul didn’t physically persecute Jesus, yet when he persecuted the Christians, the followers of Christ, Jesus told him that he was persecuting Him. Why? Remember what Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.”

When people persecute you because of your faith, it’s not because they hate you. It’s because they hate He who sent you. Even if they cry that they love Jesus or the Father, but persecute His Church, then the love of God is not in them. Their hatred is not truly for you but for what you stand for. Who you are imitating. Who you have built your life on. That is who they truly hate.

So, when the world attacks you for following Jesus, don’t be discouraged. For Jesus was persecuted and even murdered, yet He overcame the world. And because He overcame, we will overcome as well.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Overcome the World.

Seek Truth

19 I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20 loving the Lord your God, obeying His voice and holding fast to Him, for He is your life and length of days… ~ Deuteronomy 30:19-20a

God has set before each one of us the choice of life or death. Blessing or cursing. He desperately wants us to choose life and blessings. I’ve met so many people who say when I ask them if they believe in God? They are like, “Yes, of course. I am a Christian. I’m a member of so and so church.”

The problem is, they are not living the life. They will drop the F-bomb like no tomorrow, or they are wreaking of alcohol. They don’t know the first thing about Scripture or what it says about holiness and righteousness. What I’m saying is, there is a right way to live and a wrong way to live. Choose the right way.

Just to believe that there is a God or that God exists is not enough. There is so much more.

LORD God, please help me to seek the Truth. Help me to seek the right way to live my life that I might not just love You in word or speech, but in action. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Escape the Fiery Flames

11 Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, ~ Ezekiel 33:11

God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. He does not want anyone to die and go to the Lake of Fire for all eternity. It is a place where:

The flames are never quenched. The worm does not die. Anguish and pain never cease. Complete and total darkness unlike anything on earth. Thirst and hunger are never satisfied. There’s never-ending suffering and torment—uncontrollable grief and sorrow. There is no peace, no joy, no comfort, nothing but loneliness, pain, and regret.

But you don’t have to go there. God doesn’t want you there, and neither do we. Here is how you can avoid a place like that. Accept Jesus and His free gift of salvation. Maybe you have never heard of Jesus. Or maybe you have never understood what it is that Jesus offers us.

Well, we were all destined to die and go to hell or the Lake of Fire. The only thing that could save us was a pure, unblemished sacrifice. So, Jesus, the Son of God, volunteered to shed His own precious, sinless blood, a sacrifice that was without spot or wrinkle. He chose to take all of the sins of the world on Himself and to die that we might have life.

But on the third day, He rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us. And one day, He is coming back for us. And that day is very, very soon. To receive His salvation, all you have to do is ask Him. If you are ready to ask Him for forgiveness and to make a commitment to live for Him, pray this prayer with me.

LORD Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness. Help me to live my life for You, that I might escape the fiery flames of death and enter into eternal life on that Great Day. Fill me with You Holy Spirit that I might be molded into Your perfect and holy image as Adam was created in Your perfect and holy image. Give me a heart of flesh for my heart of stone that I might desire good and not evil. Be with me now, LORD God. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Go Ye

21 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ ~ Matthew 7:21–23

Jesus said that we can’t just live our lives however we want. We can’t just keep our testimony, what Jesus has done for us. You don’t just get to do your own little thing. You don’t get to do whatever you feel like.

There is a way, the right way, walk ye’ in it.

I mean, if nothing else, don’t you want to be an example for your own loved ones so that you can win them and lead them in? But we are not evangelizing. I was talking to a friend of mine, and I mentioned that I had visited one of my clients in the hospital and that I had led her to the LORD. He responded with, “Wow, that must feel wonderful. I’ve never done it.”

One statistic I read said that 63% of the leadership in a certain denomination, including deacons and elders, have not led one stranger to Jesus in the last two years through the method of “Go Ye” evangelism. Over half has never experienced the joy of winning a soul to Christ.

That’s our call as Christians. We are ALL called to win souls. To share the Gospel with as many people as we can because if no one tells them, how will they know? There’s more to Christianity and our relationship with Christ than just reading our bibles and praying. Don’t miss your opportunity to save a soul; you may never get another chance.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Go Ye.

Reveal Your Guilt

13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. ~ Hebrews 4:13

Nothing escapes the attention of God. He knows:

    • All of our ways
    • All of our thoughts
    • All of our motives
    • He knows where we are and what we are doing

God asks a rhetorical question in Jeremiah 23:24, can a man hide from God so that He cannot find him? The answer is no! No one can hide anything from God. Everything is open and laid bare before Him, and He weighs all of our words, all of our acts, and all of our thoughts in the balance, and He ponders or considers all of our ways.

He is a great God. Loving and kind. Merciful and forgiving, but we have to be obedient to His word and all His commands. Don’t be fooled into thinking that all you need to do is know who He is, and then you go your merry way, and God goes His, and you all will meet up again in a favorable way at the judgment.

It doesn’t work like that. You can’t keep secrets from God. You can’t hide your sin in a dark corner, your closet, or even under your bed. God sees everything. Repent and sin no more, that you might live.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Reveal Your Guilt.

Let God Mold You

18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. 19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before Him; ~ 1 John 3:18-19

We reassure our heart before God by our actions. God is love; the only way we can abide with God is to follow in His footsteps by loving all people. We must love everyone, including our enemies. Pray for those who hate you. Bless those who curse you.

We can no longer live as the world lives. When we accept salvation, we begin to change from the inside out. We are no longer our old self. We are a new creation being molded into the image of God.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Let God Mold You.

Be Encouraged In The LORD

4 For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. ~ Romans 15:4

The world will try to convince you that the Bible is outdated. That it no longer fits our society and culture today, but I’m here to tell you that that is a lie from the Devil himself. This is why Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote that whatever was written in the former days is still relevant today. We can learn and be encouraged by each and every verse because it was dictated by God Himself.

Why? Because Jesus, God incarnate, is the Word of God, so when we read Scripture, we are encouraging ourselves in the LORD. Literally. Don’t let the world fool you; there is hope, life, strength, encouragement, and endurance in the living and breathing Word of God.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Encouraged In The LORD.

Take Control

7a For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: ~ Proverbs 23:7a

Believing in God isn’t enough to save your soul. Even demonic entities believe in God, but it doesn’t save them. There is more. Much more. You must change your inside. You must clean the inside of the dish, not just the out.

    • The way you talk
    • The way you act
    • Even the way you think
    • The things you imagine or fantasize about

These things have to change. You can’t continue in the same old way that God found you. You come as you are, but you can’t leave as you came. Change is necessary.

As the Chinese philosopher said:

Watch your thoughts, they become your words
Watch your words, they become your action
Watch your actions, they become your habits
Watch your habits, they become your character
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny

Lao Tzu

So, how do you do that? As Paul said, we take every thought and word captive to the obedience of Christ. In other words, you change your thoughts. Only you can control what you think about. Only you can control the words that come out of your mouth. Only you can decide to make a change. So, I beseech you all to train your thoughts and then your words to the obedience of Christ. Because from your thoughts and words comes who you are. So, make a conscious effort to control your thoughts and your words, thus controlling your actions and destiny.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Take Control.
