17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5:17
15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Galatians 6:15
7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.
Galatians 4:7
These verses are saying that no longer are you your past, but now you are a new creation in Christ Jesus. You are now being transformed into a new creation. Look at what Paul writes in his letter to the Romans.
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2
You are being perfected into the Image of God, as Adam was perfectly made in the Image of God. How? Because the veil has been removed from our eyes and our eyes are being opened by the Holy Spirit who is now living in us.
18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
