We hunger for more money. A big house. More kids. A beautiful wife. A handsome husband. But do we ever hunger for more of God? We no longer seek more of God. We’re content right where we are spiritually. Why? Why has the hunger for God dwindled in our lives? What happened to the flame we had when we were first saved? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he discusses the value of “A Hunger For More” of God.
A Hunger For More
6 Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; 7 let the wicked forsake His way, and the unrighteous man His thoughts; let Him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion on Him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.
Isaiah 55:6-7
2 For He says,
“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”
Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Corinthians 6:2
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:7-8
2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5 Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
Revelation 2:2-5
