What Is Faith? Pt. 3: Faith In Action

Faith without works is useless. But what does that mean? It is by faith that you are saved, so why do we need works? Doesn’t that defeat the point of being saved by faith? Join Rev. Kenny Yates as he opens our eyes to the meaning of James’ statement, So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead in our latest message, What Is Faith? Pt. 3: Faith In Action.

What Is Faith?

Faith In Action

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

James 1:5-8

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like.

James 1:22-24

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
