We get closer and closer to His return with every generation, yet the Messiah hasn’t returned yet. So, is the return of Jesus Christ something to worry about; will it happen in our lifetime? or is the return of Jesus Christ something far off that won’t happen in our lifetime? Is Jesus even coming back? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he opens our eyes to the promises of Jesus in his message, Hold Fast.

The Second Coming of Jesus Christ

What are the prophecies of Jesus’ second coming?

29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send out His angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Matthew 24:29-31

The Great Tribulation is initiated during the time of the Man of Lawlessness, which Paul confirms in the verse below. This is one of the biggest and most important signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ.

1 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to Him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3

According to both Paul and Jesus Himself, the second coming of Jesus Christ will not come until after the Great Tribulation. This is one of the great signs that Jesus, the apostles, and the prophets of old have given us.

What The Devil Meant For Evil

If you’ve grown up in the Church, or you’ve been in the Church for a little while, then you’ve heard the phrase, What The Devil Meant For Evil, God Turns For Our Good. This phrase is often used in times of distress or grief. We use this phrase to declare that God is still on His Throne and still in control no matter what comes our way. While this is true, does the Bible actually say What The Devil Meant For Evil, God Turns For Our Good? Is this an uplifting or encouraging Bible verse? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to find the truth behind the phrase, What The Devil Meant For Evil, God Turns For Our Good.

What The Devil Meant For Evil, God Turns For Our Good

Does the Bible actually say What The Devil Meant For Evil, God Turns For Our Good? Though this statement isn’t directly in the Bible, it is directly rooted in Scripture. It means that no matter what the world throws our way, God is still in control. No matter what man tries to put into law and change, it is God’s will that will prevail.

God is Still on His Throne and in Control

21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

Proverbs 19:20-22

Man often plans and plans, but it is God whose purpose will come to fruition.

10 For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11

12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

Jeremiah 1:12

Uplifting and Encouraging Bible Verses

God has never left us alone. Even though it may feel like the darkness is overpowering the light, the light always shines in the darkness, and it can never be overcome.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

John 1:5

12 Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

John 8:12

Build The Church

30b…And he that winneth souls is wise. ~ Proverbs 11:30b

What is our primary focus as Christians? Is it to better ourselves and build our relationship with our Heavenly Father? Many believe that as Christians, our main focus should be on our relationship with Christ, which is important. What good is it to build up the kingdom, but we ourselves miss out? Nevertheless, Paul wrote that speaking in tongues is a gift that builds up the person; therefore, prophecy, which builds up the Church, is a greater gift.

Therefore, to build up the Church, to win souls for Christ, that is our main focus. Why? Because as we diligently strive to win souls for Christ, we are building up ourselves as well because we are a part of the Church. We are a part of the body of Christ. Therefore, when we build up another, we will reap that which we have sown.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Build the Church.

Pray For Saul

7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners. They are well known to the apostles, and they were in Christ before me. ~ Romans 16:7

In his final greetings in his letter to the Romans, Paul mentions Andronicus and Junia, his family, and fellow prisoners. He asked the church there to greet them on his behalf. Then he mentions that not only are they well known to the apostles, but they were in Christ before him.

Meaning that they were Christians and serving the LORD Jesus before he was. So, I thought about it for a moment. Why were they so well known? I believe they were some of the ones who were praying for Saul of Tarsus.

When he was going around terrorizing the saints, putting them in prison, when he was having Christians flogged and killed, Andronicus and Junia and their family were probably on their knees praying on Saul’s behalf.

I wonder, what if they didn’t pray for him? What if they wrote him off as a lost cause? Remember God uses the prayers of the Saints to achieve His good and perfect will. Don’t ever stop praying for a lost soul, no matter how terrible they may seem. They may very well be the ones that God has called to do a great work. And guess what? You will partake in their reward because you were associated with them, even if it was praying for their salvation.

Nobody is ever a lost cause. Pray for your loved ones, pray for the saints, pray for those who persecute you, for great will be your reward.

Father, help us to look past the offenses and the abuse and see the soul in need of redemption. Help us not to lose heart or grow weary in prayer, but to continue steadfast in prayer for the lost and the hurting in Jesus’ name, amen.

‘Tis The Season: Twas The Day After Christmas

After Christmas Day, we tend to move on and forget the Birth of Christ because of the rush of cleaning up the mess of the presents/gifts and preparing for the coming new year. As the year moves on, we slowly forget more and more, until December 1st comes around again, then suddenly we are all about the Birth of Christ. But is this the way it should be? Twas The Day After Christmas

The Day After Christmas: The Story of the Wise Men

Many believe that the Wise Men came to find the baby Jesus wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger, but this isn’t actually the case. They arrived, if you will, the day after Christmas.

Their Encounter with King Herod

1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is He who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw His star when it rose and have come to worship Him.” When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born.

They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: ‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’”

Matthew 2:1-6

Their Encounter with The Messiah

This is how we know for sure that the Wise Men encountered Jesus after He was grown a little. This had to be, if you will, the day after Christmas because Jesus was a child living in a house with His two parents.

Then Herod summoned the wise men secretly and ascertained from them what time the star had appeared. And he sent them to Bethlehem, saying, “Go and search diligently for the child, and when you have found Him, bring me word, that I too may come and worship Him.” After listening to the king, they went on their way. And behold, the star that they had seen when it rose went before them until it came to rest over the place where the child was.

10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. 11 And going into the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered Him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh. 12 And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way.

Matthew 2:7-12

Today is the day after Christmas, are you still seeking Him?

Winter and The End Times

Winter throughout history has been associated with darkness. From Greek mythology to the Bible, winter isn’t really a time associated with peace and comfort. So, then could there be a connection to winter and the end times? And if so, what does that have to do with us, the Church? Join ArieRashelle as she searches through Scripture to find the connection between Winter and The End Times.

Winter and The End Times

Winter Verses About The End Times

Winter in the Bible, at the very least Biblical prophecy, seems to be associated with The Great Tribulation of the Last Days, which occurs before The Rapture.

19 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be.

Matthew 24:19-21

17 And alas for women who are pregnant and for those who are nursing infants in those days! 18 Pray that it may not happen in winter. 19 For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.

Mark 13:17-19

10 My beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away, 11 for behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. 12 The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. 13 The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.”

Immanuel: God With Us

Immanuel: God With Us

The Prophecy of Immanuel

14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.

Isaiah 7:14

20 But as he considered these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will bear a son, and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” 22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call His name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Matthew 1:20-23

The Fulfillment of Immanuel

Immanuel means God with us. God has finally come to dwell with man forever and He will one day physically dwell on earth with His people.

16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:16-17

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.”

The Mystery of The Shepherds

The shepherds are a large part of the Nativity Story, but the real question is, why were they chosen? Why did the angel specifically go to the shepherds? Was it because the coming Messiah is the Good Shepherd, or is there more to the story? How did the Shepherds know where to find Jesus? Join Rev. Kenny Yates as he searches through Scripture to find the reason the shepherds were chosen in his video, The Mystery of The Shepherds.

The Mystery of The Shepherds

How did the Shepherds know where to find Jesus?

The biggest mystery of the shepherds is the sign they were given. The only sign the shepherds were given was that a baby would be wrapped in swaddling cloths. How did the shepherds know which baby was which?

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angel said to them,
“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you (The main mystery of the shepherds): you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom He is pleased!”

Luke 2:8-14

Was this sign a code for the shepherds? How did they know where the Christ Child was if that’s their only clue? This mystery seems to be deep-rooted in the prophecy of Christ’s birth and who the shepherds were.

Come Together

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. ~ Luke 2:15–16

They said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see…” They were all in agreement, for the Scriptures stated that they said to one another. It was not just one zealot bullying everyone else to go. They were in total agreement.

They were not arguing or quarreling amongst themselves on what to do with the sheep? They felt it was their God-given responsibility and their God-given right to do so.

Often times we get so caught up with the little inconsistencies in our beliefs that we can’t come together as one body in Christ Jesus. We can’t come together as one Church body able to act as one being led by the Holy Spirit if we allow simple things to separate us and cause division.

This Christmas, try to become one with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. It was as the shepherds were on that the angel brought them good news and great joy. It was as the followers of Christ were one in the upper room that the Holy Spirit came down with great power. What will happen this Christmas if we all come together as one in Spirit and in Truth.

Place. Love. Go Forth and Come Together.

‘Tis The Season: Our Christmas Mandate

Christmas is the season of hope and good news. The joy of the birth of the Son of God, but do we take the time to share the good news of Christ? Is it even important for us to share the good news of Christ? Isn’t it the pastor’s job to preach and teach the Gospel? Our Christmas Mandate

The Great Commission

16 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. 17 And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:16-20

14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in Him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Romans 10:14-15

This is our Christmas mandate. For as the Shepherds were told of the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ and shared all they have seen and heard, so are we to go and share all we have seen and heard.
