5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ~ Genesis 6:5
Before the flood, the LORD describes mankind as having fallen astray. Matter-of-fact, God tells us that every intention of the thoughts of man’s heart was just continual evil. Verse 8 tells us that only one man out of all the probable millions by then, Noah, found grace or found favor in the eyes of the LORD. Only one man!
They had all dropped the ball. They were not doing their job as Satraps. They had caused the king to suffer great loss, so much so that He determined that they would all perish in a worldwide flood.
I want you to think about this. If there was another flood coming, would you find favor in the eyes of God? Would your actions please God? Would He look at you with regret, or would He look at you and take pleasure in what He sees? Why does it matter if there’s never gonna be a flood again? Jesus compared the last days to the days of Noah.
37 For as were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, 39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Matthew 24:37-39
They didn’t have a care in the world. They didn’t have a love for God or the things of God. They were consumed with self. Their love had grown cold, and their hearts had turned away from God. They had fallen spiritually asleep. When you truthfully evaluate yourself according to the Word of God, would you be awake to get on the Ark?
Peace. Love. Go Forth and Live As Noah.
