12 Then he said to me, “Fear not, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and humbled yourself before your God, your words have been heard, and I have come because of your words. 13 The prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I was left there with the kings of Persia, 14 and came to make you understand what is to happen to your people in the latter days. For the vision is for days yet to come.”

7 And crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” 8 For He was saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He replied, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” 10 And he begged Him earnestly not to send them out of the country. 11 Now a great herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, 12 and they begged him, saying, “Send us to the pigs; let us enter them.” 13 So He gave them permission. And the unclean spirits came out and entered the pigs; and the herd, numbering about two thousand, rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the sea.

Keys To Receiving Answered Prayers

First Key to getting answered prayers is to set your heart to understand. In other words to believe with everything in you that you will receive your answered prayer.

Playing With Sin

Work While You Can

11 The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with Him, we will also live with Him; 12 if we endure, we will also reign with Him; if we deny Him, He also will deny us; 13 if we are faithless, He remains faithful—for He cannot deny Himself. ~ 2 Timothy 2:11-13

Grandparents, remind your grandchildren of the love of God. Remind them of His goodness, but also remind them of His judgment. We cannot separate the two. I know there is a school of thought out there that teaches that it doesn’t matter what you do; God will always love you.

That is a false teaching. It gives a faults sense of security. Let’s people become lax in their Christian faith, in the fight for their souls and the souls of their loved ones.

It matters a whole lot what you do. Yes, God will remain faithful, even if we are not faithful because He cannot deny who He is. But there is coming a time when sheep will be separated from the goats—the goats to the left and the sheep to the right.

Don’t let yourself lose the battle for your grandchildren’s souls. Fight while you can still fight for them. Influence their lives while you are still influential. Pray for them while you are still alive and can pray on their behalf. There is no such thing as a day off or retirement in this life. We only have this one life to influence and teach our children and our children’s children.

We oftentimes find it difficult to let go of sins simply because it is tradition. When something is passed down from generation to generation, it becomes a generational curse. It becomes a stronghold in the lives of our descendants. Look at what Jesus accuses the Pharisees of doing:

Matthew 15:1-9

1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 

4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” 6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:

8 “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; 9 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

Explanation

The Pharisees were living in sin and teaching others to live in sin all because of tradition. Tradition is one of the most dangerous weapons the Devil has in his arsenal. Don’t let that trip you up. Study the Scriptures for yourself to see if what is being taught to you is true or not, don’t just take someone’s word for it. Be like the Bereans who would go and look to see if what Paul was teaching them was true. If the Bereans took the time to double-check the greatest apostle who ever lived, we can take the time to double-check our pastors and teachers of our day and age. Seek the discernment of the Holy Spirit so that you may recognize false prophets in your lives. So that you can recognize wolves in sheep clothing. And so that you can recognize the goats living among you.

Effectual Fervent Prayers

We hear stories of men and women in the Bible, praying and seeing results. Elijah prayed effectual fervent prayers, and the heavens did not rain. Moses prayed, and God had mercy on the Children of Israel. David prayed and was a man after God’s own heart. The Bible is filled with extraordinary prayer warriors. We hear testimonies of men and women like Kathryn Kuhlman, Derek Prince, Smith Wigglesworth; all these men and women have incredible testimonies of seeing miraculous miracles taking place after they prayed. We hear these stories, but do we see these results in our time? Does God still answer prayers?

Why do we no longer see the results that the early Church saw? Or the results of testimonies like Kathryn Kuhlman, Derek Prince, or Smith Wigglesworth? Effectual Fervent Prayers

17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. 18 Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

Answered prayers aren’t just for the past. They are for now. God answers the effectual fervent prayers of His children. He answers faith filled prayers.

19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
