Avoid Russian Roulette

19 Then Joshua said to Achan, “My son, give glory to the Lord God of Israel and give praise to him. And tell me now what you have done; do not hide it from me.” 20 And Achan answered Joshua, “Truly I have sinned against the Lord God of Israel, and this is what I did: 21 when I saw among the spoil a beautiful cloak from Shinar, and 200 shekels of silver, and a bar of gold weighing 50 shekels, then I coveted them and took them. And see, they are hidden in the earth inside my tent, with the silver underneath.” 22 So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent; and behold, it was hidden in his tent with the silver underneath. 23 And they took them out of the tent and brought them to Joshua and to all the people of Israel. And they laid them down before the Lord. 24 And Joshua and all Israel with him took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver and the cloak and the bar of gold, and his sons and daughters and his oxen and donkeys and sheep and his tent and all that he had. And they brought them up to the Valley of Achor. 25 And Joshua said, “Why did you bring trouble on us? The Lord brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel stoned him with stones. They burned them with fire and stoned them with stones. 26 And they raised over him a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Then the Lord turned from his burning anger. Therefore, to this day the name of that place is called the Valley of Achor. ~  Joshua 7:19-26

I saw a video the other day where a little small dog would jump the neighbor’s fence just to provoke the two dogs next dog, which were much bigger than himself. When the two dogs came charging out, he would jump back over, and they would chase each other up and down the fence. Him on one side, and they on the other. To the small dog it seemed like fun, but I wonder what would have happened if he got caught on the wrong side of the fence?

That is what Achan did. He played the Russian Roulette game and lost. He got caught on the wrong side of the fence.

Adultery and Idolatry always go together; they are synonyms. Adultery is spiritual idolatry, and idolatry is spiritual adultery, as we saw earlier. They’re interchangeable. God always likens idolatry to sexual unfaithfulness to Him.

Therefore, be careful when playing games with your soul. It may seem like you’re winning and are unstoppable, but that’s all just an illusion to keep you playing the game so that one day you’re so far gone that you won’t even realize the bullet has struck you and you’ve spiritually died.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Avoid Russian Roulette.

Learn The Word

33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 34 and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man. ~ Proverbs 24:33

Please understand that poverty is a state or condition of lacking what is needed, below what is normal in society. When you lack what is needed, you are rendered powerless, lacking the condition or the state to fight the good fight at AI.

I’m talking about spiritual poverty. And a lot of people suffer from spiritual poverty. Temptation is always deceptive, but Jesus said you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

Therefore, cling to the Scriptures. Learn the Word of God. Allow the Spirit of the LORD to guide you and lead you so that you might dwell in the Truth of God. So that no temptation or deception can lead you astray.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Learn The Word.

Overcome With Thanksgiving

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? ~ 1 Corinthians 5:6

Paul said a little leaven leavens the whole lump, and it’s that way with us as well. When we leave an open door, such as taking the things that belong to God, we stumble at AI; we lose the fight with Adultery and Idolatry.

We are deceived into thinking it is no big deal, but we lose, and sometimes we lose everything. We begin to make Mammon our god. Take things for granted. Become ungrateful.

An ungrateful heart will cause us to separate ourselves from God because we will no longer see all of the good things the LORD has done for us. Our hearts will become hardened towards the LORD and all of His good blessings upon us.

Therefore, strive to remove even the littlest amount of leaven from within you so that you might not be consumed by the flesh. Don’t be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good. Give thanks daily to the LORD for His many, many good blessings and gifts. And in doing so, you will overcome an ungrateful heart that is tied with Mammon.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Overcome With Thanksgiving.

Begin Transforming

13 Get up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel, “There are devoted things in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted things from among you.” ~ Joshua 7:13

God told Joshua to consecrate the people for tomorrow. You must always prepare today for tomorrow. If you wait for tomorrow, it will be too late; tomorrow will come and pass you by. Also, notice this. He was not going to do it for them; the people were to consecrate themselves.

Some people believe that this is an action taken by the LORD. But nowhere do I find the LORD doing this for us, we must do it for own ourselves. Even with things like Mount Sinai, when God came down on the mountain in Exodus 19, they had to consecrate both the mountain as well as themselves (Exodus 19:22-23).

God did not do it for them. We’ve gotten spiritually lazy and want God to do everything for us. Just take it away LORD, just take it away! But Paul instructed us in 1 Corinthians 5:7 to get rid of the old leaven so that we might be a new batch. We have to do it ourselves. We transform ourselves by renewing our minds, Paul wrote in Romans 12:2. And he wrote the same thing in Ephesians.

Do You Know What Is Truth?

37 Then Pilate said to Him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice.” 38 Pilate said to him, “What is truth?” After he had said this, he went back outside to the Jews and told them, “I find no guilt in Him.” ~ John 18:37-38

When Jesus stood before Pilate, He told him that He came to bear witness to the truth. Pilate then asked, what is truth? Well, here is truth. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to die for each and every one of us (John 3:16). That is Truth.

He promised to come into the world as a baby through the virgin (Isaiah 7:14), and He did. He promised to redeem mankind with His own blood (Isaiah 53:5-12), and He did. He promised to give us His Holy Spirit as a seal, and He did.

All of His promised He has kept. But there is still one more that is yet to be fulfilled. He has promised to come back to get us so that we believers may live with Him forever and ever without end.

If you would like to spend eternity with Jesus, here is how to do it. Come to Him in repentance. If you call out to Christ, He will answer you. If you ask for forgiveness, He will forgive. It is not the words so much as it is your remorse for your sin and your desire to please the Savior.

False Freedom

20 For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. 21 But what fruit were you getting at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. 22 But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. ~ Romans 6:20-23

It is all about bearing fruit. Paul is saying that when you were a slave to sin, you could do whatever you wanted to do. But there was no fruit there, and the end of all of that freedom is death. The second death is the only thing that awaits those who are not in Christ, those who have never accepted Him as LORD and as Savior.

What is the Second Death, you ask? It is the Lake of Fire. It is hell, where the flames will burn forever, and there is torment and gnashing of teeth. It is a place you do not want to go.

Listen, you can spend all your life working for money, or you can spend all your money working for life. But in the end, what will it profit, or what will it benefit you if you gain the whole world but lose your soul?

There is absolutely nothing that you can offer Jesus on Judgment Day in exchange for your soul. No amount of money or abundance of things will suffice. Jesus is not interested in anything that you have.

The truth is you have nothing that was not given to you in the first place. Therefore, there is nothing that is worth your soul.

Everything belongs to the LORD. The earth and its fullness are the LORD’s. The cattle on a thousand hills are all the LORD’s.

So, tell me, O’ mere man, what do you have that was not given to you? Or what do you possess that makes you better than anyone else?

We must all give an account, and every knee shall bow in worship, and every tongue shall proclaim, to the glory of God, that Jesus Christ is LORD of all, and that He is master of everything.

  • There is none like Him
  • There is none besides Him
  • All is beneath Him
  • For He created all things
  • And all things are from Him and for Him

Fear or Freedom

15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” ~ Romans 8:15

Fear is running rampant throughout our society. There is fear of speaking up. There is fear of telling the truth about what is really going on. Some say it is because of the fear of suicidal tendencies if you do, or the fear of getting a visit from the FBI, or at the very least, you offend people.

I’ve seen the videos on the internet. I’ve heard the testimonies of those who lived it, and it is all for real.

But here is what Patrick Henry said:

Should I keep back my opinions at such a time through fear of giving offence, I should consider myself as guilty of treason toward my country and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of heaven which I revere above all earthly kings.

His fear of God and love for the Savior was stronger than his fear of man.

It would seem that we are in the same boat, with warm handshakes and broad smiles and pats on the back, which deceives the brainwashed into overlooking the acts of war and the play for the subjugation of the American population.

As Patrick Henry said:

Suffer not your cells to be betrayed with a kiss.

Our Founding Fathers passed down a great heritage to us—an inheritance that was bought with the blood of many good men at the expense of their great wealth.

These men were all in, for freedom, for liberty, for independence from slavery. We should never take it so lightly or sell it so cheaply.

  • It cost much
  • It cost some everything

But what costs you nothing means nothing and will be sold very cheaply.

As we celebrate the 4th of July, Independence Day, let us remember what was given to us. Let us remember men like Patrick Henry, who said, “Give me liberty, or give me death.”

He stood up and declared that the time had come; there was no turning back, and it was inevitable that independence was proclaimed.

Beware Of The Flatteries

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet. ~ Proverbs 29:5

Some people will say whatever they have to in order to get what they want. They’ll say things to stroke your ego, but those are just empty words. They’ll manipulate you, so you have to be on guard.

Do not fall for every word of flattery you receive. Be wise. Weigh their words. If it is flattery, it will feel good. It will fill you with pride, but it will not end well.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Beware Of The Flatteries.

Faulty Flatteries

All the high officials of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the counselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an injunction, that whoever makes petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. ~ Daniel 6:7

Well, they started off with a lie. They said ALL of the high officials of the kingdom, but Daniel was not a part of their scheme. But they insinuated that he was. And did you notice how they flattered the king?

They made it seem like it was all about the king. Like you’re doing such a great job, O king. You are so wise. We believe you’re the best thing since slice bread O king. And your wisdom is forever. We believe that for the next thirty days, no one should petition, pray, or seek the advice of anyone else, not even a god, no one, except for you.

You’re simply the best! Better than all the rest!

And with these words, they stroked King Darius’ ego. When flattering lips begin to stroke your ego, beware, it is not your best interest they are seeking, but their own.

No Bounds

Then these high officials and satraps came by agreement to the king and said to him, “O King Darius, live forever! All the high officials of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the counselors and the governors are agreed that the king should establish an ordinance and enforce an injunction, that whoever makes petition to any god or man for thirty days, except to you, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions. Now, O king, establish the injunction and sign the document, so that it cannot be changed, according to the law of the Medes and the Persians, which cannot be revoked.” Therefore King Darius signed the document and injunction. ~ Daniel 6:6-9

The Scriptures said that it pleased King Darius to set over the whole kingdom, 120 satraps. A satrap was a governor of a province or a ruler. So, the kingdom was probably divided into 120 provinces, and each province had a governor, or some high-ranking official called a satrap over each one.

Then the king was pleased to set three top officials over the 120 satraps Daniel 6:1-2. Everything was working out just fine until envy set in. You see, Daniel began to distinguish himself from the others by his work ethic and his honesty. So, the king was further pleased to set Daniel over them all.

That’s when they had enough of Mr. Goody Two Shoes, and that green-eyed giant of envy raised his nasty head. And they began to plot. They tried to find some kind of dirt on Daniel, anything, anything at all.  But try as they may, they could not find anything because Daniel was an honest, hardworking, squeaky-clean man. Righteous in all of his ways.

They came to the conclusion that they would never find anything illegal against him. So, they would have to invent something. But that is nothing new; it still happens today.

Envy is a terrible slave master. It will make you do some despicable things, not excluding lying with the intent to cause murder, as these men did.

It knows no bounds. It knows no limits. It has no friends. It has no loyalty. Envy is a cunning emotion, and these men were caught in its vice grip.
