What is our primary focus as Christians? Is it to better ourselves and build our relationship with our Heavenly Father? Many believe that as Christians, our main focus should be on our relationship with Christ, which is important. What good is it to build up the kingdom, but we ourselves miss out? Nevertheless, Paul wrote that speaking in tongues is a gift that builds up the person; therefore, prophecy, which builds up the Church, is a greater gift.
Therefore, to build up the Church, to win souls for Christ, that is our main focus. Why? Because as we diligently strive to win souls for Christ, we are building up ourselves as well because we are a part of the Church. We are a part of the body of Christ. Therefore, when we build up another, we will reap that which we have sown.
