Two Roads

During His earthly ministry, Jesus taught that there are two roads set before each of us. A narrow road and a broad road. One He said leads to Eternal Life, the other He said leads to Eternal Death. In our world today, there seem to be more than just two roads. There seem to be several different journeys that people claim all lead to the same destination, but is this true? Does it matter which journey we take as long as we are aiming for a certain destination? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he explains both roads and the destinations of each in his message, Two Roads.

Matthew 7:13-14
Hebrews 10:25
2 timothy 3:1-7
Luke 13:23-30

Two Roads

In life, we are each given two roads to choose from, a narrow road and a broad road. Each road has a different journey and destination.

13 Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 7:13-14

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.”

John 14:6-7

15 If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. You know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.

John 14:15-17

According to Jesus, there is only one way to the Father. There is only one way to Eternal Life, and that is through Jesus Christ. Choosing to live outside of the love and will of Jesus will lead you to Eternal Death. So choose the road less traveled by that leads to Christ Jesus.

And They Troubled The City Exceedingly, There’s No Other Plan

When we are told we shouldn’t speak about Jesus, should we listen? Saint Francis of Assisi is attributed with saying, “Preach the Gospel always, and when necessary use words.” But was he right? Is that what we as Christians are called to do? Preach the Gospel without using words? Join Rev. Kenny Yates as he sheds some light on how Christians are called to preach the Gospel in his message And They Troubled The City Exceedingly, There’s No Other Plan.

Acts 16:19-21
Romans 10:14-17
Deuteronomy 6:4-9
Acts 4:19-20
Acts 4:17

And They Troubled The City Exceedingly, There’s No Other Plan

We have to trouble the city exceedingly until we see a shift in the natural because of the supernatural. We can’t expect to plant seeds and harvest souls until you move the city until you disturb the spirits that are there. There’s no other plan. There’s no other way. We have to trouble the city exceedingly in order to see a change in our world.

17 She followed Paul and us, crying out, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to you the way of salvation.” 18 And this she kept doing for many days. Paul, having become [distressed], turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And it came out that very hour.

19 But when her owners saw that their hope of gain was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace before the rulers. 20 And when they had brought them to the magistrates, they said, “These men are Jews, and they are disturbing our city. 21 They advocate customs that are not lawful for us as Romans to accept or practice.”

Acts 16:17-21

We can’t disturb the city unless we use our words. Life and death lie in the power of the tongue. Saint Francis of Assisi seemed to miss the entire purpose of the Great Commission. Jesus tells us to preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. We can’t do this unless we use our words because how can they believe in whom they have never heard of?

Feast of Passover and Unleavened Bread

1 The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be for you the beginning of months. It shall be the first month of the year for you. Tell all the congregation of Israel that on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to their fathers’ houses, a lamb for a household. And if the household is too small for a lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor shall take according to the number of persons; according to what each can eat you shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, and you shall keep it until the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight.”

14 “This day shall be for you a memorial day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute forever, you shall keep it as a feast. 15 Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. On the first day you shall remove leaven out of your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, from the first day until the seventh day, that person shall be cut off from Israel. 16 On the first day you shall hold a holy assembly, and on the seventh day a holy assembly. No work shall be done on those days. But what everyone needs to eat, that alone may be prepared by you. 17 And you shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, for on this very day I brought your hosts out of the land of Egypt. Therefore you shall observe this day, throughout your generations, as a statute forever. 18 In the first month, from the fourteenth day of the month at evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month at evening. 19 For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses. If anyone eats what is leavened, that person will be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he is a sojourner or a native of the land. 20 You shall eat nothing leavened; in all your dwelling places you shall eat unleavened bread.”

Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near; let the wicked forsake His way, and the unrighteous man His thoughts; let Him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion on Him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

For He says,

“In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.”

Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4:7-8

2 I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. 3 You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.

4 Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken your first love. 5 Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

Getting Jesus’ Attention: In The Midst of The Crowd

46 And they came to Jericho. And as He (Jesus) was leaving Jericho with His disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. 47 And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

48 And many rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 49 And Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart. Get up; He is calling you.” 50 And throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabbi, let me recover my sight.” 52 And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed Him on the way.

How to Get Jesus’ Attention

22 One day He got into a boat with His disciples, and He said to them, “Let us go across to the other side of the lake.” So they set out, 23 and as they sailed He fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in danger. 24 And they went and woke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And He awoke and rebuked the wind and the raging waves, and they ceased, and there was a calm. 25 He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And they were afraid, and they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even winds and water, and they obey Him?”

Luke 8:22-25

16 But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18 even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.

19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke; 20 the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day. 21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’

A Lasting Marriage

In today’s world, 50% of marriages end in divorce. Marriage no longer means anything. It has become just a contract that one can null and void if one is unhappy. It’s no longer a covenant relationship that we make with another person. There are no longer any lasting marriages. The author of the song Love Is Not A Fight said,

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It’s a house we enter in
And then commit
To never leave
Love is a shelter
In a raging storm
Love is peace
In the middle of a war
If we try to leave
May God send angels
To guard the door
No, love is not a fight
But it’s something worth fighting for

Marriage should be built on the principle of love. And love is not just a word; it’s a way we live. It’s the way we treat our children. It’s the way we treat our friends and family. Most importantly, it’s the way we treat our spouse. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he sends forth the powerful message, A Lasting Marriage, because love is worth fighting for.

Ephesians 5:21-33 NLT

Genesis 2:23 NLT

A Lasting Marriage

And Pharisees came up to Him and tested Him by asking, “Is it lawful to divorce one’s wife for any cause?” He answered, “Have you not read that he who created them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’? So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”

They said to Him, “Why then did Moses command one to give a certificate of divorce and to send her away?” He said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so. And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

Matthew 19:3-9

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Burn The Ships

When God calls us, do we run to Him or drag our feet? Oftentimes, we are afraid to burn our ships. We’re afraid to get rid of our safety net in case this “Christian Thing” doesn’t work out. Or maybe our ships are our sins that are holding us back. Or maybe it’s painful memories from our past that we can’t seem to let go of in order to make it to the next level. Join Rev. Kenny Yates as he teaches us the importance of burning our ships in his fiery message entitled Burn The Ships.

Burn The Ships

When Elijah called Elisha, Elisha got rid of all backup plans. He burned all of his ships.

19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him. 20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, “Let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?” 21 And he returned from following him and took the yoke of oxen and sacrificed them and boiled their flesh with the yokes of the oxen and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and went after Elijah and assisted him.
