Don’t Waste This Birthday

13 When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command the locust to devour the land, or send pestilence among my people, 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayer that is made in this place. ~ 2 Chronicles 7:13-15

15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits. ~ Matthew 7:15-20

250 years ago, a new country was born. One built on the belief that all men are created equal and endowed with unalienable rights to Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness by their Creator. Men and women willingly gave up their status, wealth, homes, and their very lives in order to ensure that the United States of America would be free from the tyranny of the British crown. 250 years later, there are those who try their best to take these rights away from us each and every day, as they pretend to be acting in our best interests.

They say they are for the people, yet do their best to take away the rights of the people. America wasn’t built in one day. It wasn’t just born out of thin air. It was built on the sacrifice of the brave men and women who wanted a better life for themselves, their children, and their children’s children. They were willing to lose everything, as long as it meant they had freedom. Today, we desire the opposite. We’re willing to sacrifice our freedom for the sake of convenience and empty promises.

The world has dramatically changed in the past 250 years. We’ve become comfortable in our privileges and rights. We’ve become spiritually dead because we don’t know what it’s like to not have the freedom of religion. The freedom of assembly. The freedom of speech. So, we’ve become docile to the point of deep slumber. And as we’ve slept, the wolves have descended. They’re wide awake, taking away everything from us. Even the simplest of things such as the right to collect rainwater.

The enemy will continue to run rampant, as long as the Church remains asleep. As long as we refuse to do anything. 250 years ago, our forefathers risked their lives and all that they had; what are we willing to risk to defend our freedoms? To ensure that our children and our children’s children grow up in a better world than we did? Will we get up a little earlier in the morning to pray? Will we spend a little extra time in our Bibles seeking wisdom from God? Will we begin to spiritually invade the enemy’s camp through prayer, fasting, worship, and time with our God?

Today is America’s 250th birthday. It’s a day that we remember, celebrate, and commemorate the birth of this beautiful nation, but let it also be a day of prayer that it might remember its God and renew its dedication to Him.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Don’t Waste This Birthday.

Seek Out Knowledge

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. ~ Hosea 4:6

[Jesus] answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition?” ~ Matthew 15:3

The more negative comments we receive on our website, the more I realize that the source of these comments is from a place of ignorance. One of the biggest problems in the Church is one that plagued ancient Israel as well, the lack of knowledge. We go based on human tradition instead of the Word of God. Instead of studying the Word of God to show ourselves approved, we ignore Bible verses and stories because they contradict what our tradition says. It contradicts our preconceived notions.

God looked out over His people and said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” I don’t think today is any different. Actually, I think it’s worse. The Bible is accessible in paper and digital form. It is translated into hundreds of languages. There’s really no excuse why we should remain willfully ignorant about the things of God.

So, what’s holding us back? Is it spiritual laziness? Pride, because we don’t want to be wrong? What’s keeping us from growing in the faith? The book of Hebrews chastises the Hebrew people by saying, “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food” (Hebrews 5:12). The Hebrew people had been separated and made special because of their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God made Himself known to them. Gave them promises. Gave them revelation and prophecy that He didn’t give to others, yet when the Messiah came, they missed Him. When the Holy Spirit came, they didn’t grow.

The Church has been given so much opportunity to grow. We’ve had revival after revival, yet we drop the ball and remain on milk. We rarely ever make it to solid food. To meat. Why? Ask yourself, what’s holding you back? What’s keeping you from growing in the faith?

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

James 1:5

Seek To Find Truth

Hebrews 13:8-9a

[8] Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. [9] Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings …

I read a comment on a video where someone said that their Christian pastor explained one Sunday that everyone’s trying to reach God, but we all have different ways of getting to Him. I always think it’s weird when someone says their “Christian pastor said x, y, and z” as an excuse for something. Though pastors are necessary for the building of the Church, they are not the final say for God’s Word. God’s Word is the final say for God’s Word.

Jesus said:

[6] Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

He also said:

[1]  Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. (John 10:1)

Jesus didn’t say, “there are many ways.” No, He said He is the only way. He didn’t say “some come through me.” He said, there is no other way to God the Father than through me. We cannot override Christ, no matter our opinion or position. And those who don’t follow this teaching of Jesus, but teach a different Gospel, is a thief and a robber. They aren’t Christian pastors, but liars who rob and thieve.

We can try to twist Scripture, take it out of context, and manipulate it to what we want it to be, but at the end of the day, we cannot change it. The Truth will remain the same. And those who desire Truth, will seek it and find it.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Seek To Find Truth.

Be Linked

24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. ~ John 4:24

All people are very connected to their own body. Here’s what I mean. We know when our body is hungry, tired, in pain, weak, thirsty, etc. It’s easy and natural to us. It’s not something we have to learn. When it comes to our spirit man, it’s not so easy or natural.

So, many of us, including those of us in the Church, are spiritually starving and dying of dehydration without even realizing it. Our spirit man often goes neglected and struggles to survive. We don’t neglect our physical body, but our spiritual one is more times than not abused. Why?

Because denying your flesh and building your spirit man isn’t natural. It goes against everything you are, that’s why you need Christ. It’s through Him that we are redeemed and through His Holy Spirit that we are transformed, so that we might be in tune with our spirit man. So that when our spirit is hungry for spiritual food, we can feed it. When it’s thirsty for living water, we can fill its cup. The Holy Spirit helps link us to our spirit man so that we might be linked to our God.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Linked.

Keep Standing

Revelation 3:15-16 NKJV

[15] I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. [16] So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

I watched a video the other day of men who had been standing for over a decade straight. They refused to sit down. One man’s feet had gone black and were swollen large. Others would come and clean them for him and put ointment and treatment on them. The reason for refusing to sit? The believed they will see their god Shiva, and that is their hearts’ desire.

They’re willing to give up everything, including their very limbs for the sake of possibly seeing their god. Our God dwells in us, gave up His life for us, yet we won’t even sacrifice a little “me time” to meet with Him. He doesn’t even demand such extremes to see Him; all we have to do is call on His name and He will come to us.

As Christians, we’re lazy. We refuse to do what we need to do in order to see our God. The Living God. The Almighty God. The God of all gods. He doesn’t even ask that much of us. Spend time with Him. Read and study His Word. Pray and worship. Come together in fellowship with other believers. Give up this world. There’s people who refuse to sit. Refuse to put their arm down. Refuse to eat in hopes of seeing their god. They truly believe. They are true seekers. True believers. They are filled with passion. Why?

Because they don’t have the same grace we do. And we, as Christians, take advantage of it. We use it up and act as if it’s our get out of jail free card. As if we have no standard to measure up to. We act like the Nicolatians who sinned all the more because of grace. This is not the way. We have to become passionate for God, lest we fall deeper into lukewarmness and be spewed out of His mouth.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Keep Standing.

What Are You Obsessed With?

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. ~ Galatians 2:20NKJV

Paul was completely obsessed with the things of God. His every purpose, his every move, his every decision was based on…: “What would Jesus have me do?” We have to understand that obsession shapes our thoughts, dreams, hopes, and vision. Obsession consumes us in every way; in fact, it’s what gives life to our ambitions in life! They are what define us.

What are you obsessed with? What drives you? If Scripture puts you to sleep every time you read it, you’re not obsessed. If Church bores you, you’re not obsessed. What we are obsessed with will tell us our spiritual temperature. It’ll let us know whether we are hot, cold, or lukewarm. Christ was obsessed with us. It’s what kept Him on the cross when He could have gotten off. When He could have saved Himself. When He could have called twelve legions of angels to His rescue. Christ was obsessed with His creation. What are you obsessed with?

Stir To More

Romans 11:29 NKJV

29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “Use it, or lose it.” But when it comes to God’s gifts and calling, that saying does not apply. What God has given you cannot be lost or revoked. Paul encourages his young protégé, Timothy, to “stir up the gift of God which is in you.” (2 Timothy 1:6).

We need to do the same thing—we must stir up the gifts given to us. Just as natural talents and skills are sharpened through training, practice, and repetition, spiritual gifts are activated the same way—by putting our faith into action.

We will never see the sick healed if we never pray for the sick. We will never exercise authority over demons if we never act in faith in the Name of Jesus when those situations arise.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Stir To More.

Do More Than Words

Revelation 3:1-3

[1]  “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of Him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead. [2] Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works complete in the sight of my God. [3] Remember, then, what you received and heard. Keep it, and repent. If you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come against you.’”

Jesus gives seven different instructions to the seven different Churches. To the Church in Sardis, He tells them that He knows their works then hits them with “You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.” See, Jesus saw through what they were declaring and presenting. Jesus doesn’t look at the outer, He looks at the heart. He sees what we do in public and what we do in secret.

In today’s world, we have so many people who don’t just claim Christianity, but are known and recognized as devout Christians, but you can’t watch any of the movies they’re in or music they make because of the language and religious exclamatories. If they make clean music, they go on tour with and make music with those who do those things, some even openly talking about consuming the blood of their partner for rituals, They are known for Christianity, but bear no front, They have the reputation of being alive, but they are dead. It’s not enough for the world to see you as a Christian. You have to bear fruit. You have to make a stand for righteousness.

Jesus ends His letter with a call to repentance. A warning that if they don’t wake up, He will come against them like a thief in the night. In other words, the LORD has given them a chance to repent. An opportunity to return to Him before He comes against them. When we claim to be alive, but are dead, we lie. We make ourselves an enemy of God, an enemy of Christ. Therefore, don’t waste your opportunity. Today is the day of salvation, tomorrow is promised to no one.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Do More Than Words.

Prepare To Shed

Revelation 2:1-7

[1]  To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: ‘The words of him who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands. [2]  I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false. [3] I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up for my name’s sake, and you have not grown weary. [4] But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first. [5] Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first. If not, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. [6] Yet this you have: you hate the works of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. [7] He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers I will grant to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.’

There’s a fisherman I often watch videos of who explained that lobsters are biologically immortal. Once they get a certain size, they don’t have anymore predators. The only thing that can kill them is shedding. Once they reach a certain age, they no longer have any energy to shed. So, they’ll get stuck in their shell and they’ll end up starving to death. It made me think of Christians.

When we’ve been in church our entire lives, we often take it for granted. We don’t necessarily give into sin. We do our best to keep the commands of God, but we end up spiritually dying anyway. Why? We lose the love we had at first. Our love runs cold. Our love for God.

The passion we once had to search the Scriptures, learn new things, and grow in the Spirit slowly dies as time goes on. We become so complacent in our faith that we die to Christ, instead of living to Him. We’ve become that lobster. We’ve run out of energy to just keep going because we’ve stopped feeding our spirit. We stopped feeding our relationship with Christ.

Fasting, praying, worshipping, praising, reading and studying our bibles just come to a stop. And often times, it’s gradually, so we don’t even realize it’s happening. We become numb to it. Then we just lie down and starve to death. Our relationship with Christ just dwindles and He let’s us go.

It’s something that happens often in the Church, and the only way to avoid this fate, is to build up your spiritman. That is your source of life. Your relationship with Christ. The Father. The Spirit. It all depends on you reading and studying your Bible, praying, worshipping, fasting, and praising. It’s all about your quiet time. How you spend time with God matters.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Prepare To Shed.

Earnestly Pray For Your Promise

[1] When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. [2] And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. ~ Acts 2:1-2

After the Resurrection, Jesus appeared to the apostles for forty days. Then He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit to come, and ascended into Heaven. So, the next ten days they spent devoted in prayer. See, the Holy Spirit didn’t come down as soon as Jesus ascended. No. It took them earnestly praying in one accord for ten days for the Holy Spirit to come down.

We are each given promises, but just because we’re given promises, doesn’t mean we no longer have any responsibility in the matter. We have to fight for our promises. They don’t always happen overnight, in fact, the majority of times it takes many days or even years.

If they had not prayed earnestly, I’m not so sure that the Spirit would have been poured out on all flesh. It takes someone to stand in the gap. It takes someone to pray, come LORD come. They spent ten days devoted in prayer, today we struggle to pray for ten minutes, and then wonder why we don’t see the same power they did. We even make excuses saying it just wasn’t for us, but for them alone.

The Church today has become lazy. We will stay up all night working for money, but not to see the glory of God. Not to be filled with His Holy Spirit. I’m not against money, I’m against putting everything into making it but putting nothing into the Kingdom of God. That is the difference between today’s Church and the first century Church. That is why we don’t see the same miracles, signs, and wonders. Because we’ve become lazy to point of death. Spiritual death.

There is only a few days left until Pentecost. Don’t let another Pentecost Sunday pass you by without seeking the LORD. Earnestly seeking Him.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Earnestly Pray For Your Promise.
