Await The Future

23 And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. 24 We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. 25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.) ~ Romans 8:23-25NLT

We don’t live in a hopeless world. We aren’t alone. The God of the Universe dwells in us and guides us through our life. Then one day, He’ll come back to get us, and there we will be with Him always. So, when life feels hopeless, and the world feels only dark and cold, cling to the hope of Jesus’ return. Don’t let the worries and trials of the present keep you from the future glory that awaits us.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Await The Future.

Hope In The Light

23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep His promise. ~ Hebrews 10:23NLT

The world is only getting more and more evil. There’s war and murder everywhere you look. There seems to be no hope around us as the darkness tries to squash out the light, so what do we do? We hope in the light that can never be overcome.

The light that raises the dead and makes the blind see. The light that came into the world and overcame the world. That is what we hope in, Jesus. We hope in the rock that cannot be shaken nor moved. The rock that holds the world in His hands. We hope in the name of Jesus because it is at His name that all knees will bow and every tongue will confess that He is LORD.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Hope In The Light.

Hope in the Cross

18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:18

Many people mock Christians for our love of the cross. They say Jesus wouldn’t want us to wear or remember His murder weapon, but that wasn’t Jesus’ murder weapon. No one took Jesus’ life from Him; He gave it up freely. The cross isn’t a symbol of tragedy but of victory. If there was no cross, there would be no death, and without Jesus’ death, there could be no resurrection. We would have no hope if it wasn’t for the cross. So, the cross isn’t a horrible, murderous symbol. The cross is the symbol of hope, for it was on the cross that Jesus paid our debt and overcame the world.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Hope in the Cross.

O Death

22 The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. ~ Luke 9:22

For three days and three nights, all hope had seemed to vanish. The Son of God had been crucified and lay dead in a tomb; the world itself darkened without its light. But the story didn’t end there. On that third day, when everything seemed hopeless and bleak, the Son of God rose from the dead, conquering not only sin but death itself.

O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?

We rejoice this Resurrection Sunday (Easter Sunday) because our hope, the Light of the World, is no longer dead. Our God is alive and well. He is seated on His throne in glory and honor. He prepared the way for us. He overcame the entire world, even death, for us. And because He rose from the dead, so shall we. Because death had no power over Him, it shall have no power over us. Because He overcame sin, so shall we overcome sin through Him. All things are now possible for those who believe in the power of the LORD Jesus Christ, for He Was, He Is, and He Is To Come.

He is coming back, but this time it won’t be to die. It’ll be to resurrect us from our dying bodies and then to bring the righteous wrath of God upon those who refused to accept His loving sacrifice.

Oh LORD God, thank You for Your loving sacrifice. Thank You for each stripe on Your back that brought us healing, every piercing and every bruise that brought us forgiveness for our transgressions and iniquities, every chastisement that brought us peace, and especially every drop of blood spilled for it is by Your blood we have been washed clean. Thank You for Your sacrifice. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

Hold To The Great Hope

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, 12 training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, 13 waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession who are zealous for good works. ~ Titus 2:11-14

We don’t live in utter hopelessness like the world. We have hope that the LORD will fulfill His promises and come back for us. No matter how dark the world around us gets, the Light of the World dwells in us and through us. We have been saved by grace through faith that we might no longer be a slave to sin, but now we are free in Christ Jesus. We have hope. One day our God will wipe away every tear from our eyes and give us a new earth that is perfect for us to live with Him forever. So, don’t let the world around you bring you down or take your joy; there is always hope.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Hold To The Great Hope.

Give Out of Your Little

11 And as she was going to bring it, he called to her and said, “Bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.” 12 And she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. And now I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it and die.” 13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said. But first make me a little cake of it and bring it to me, and afterward make something for yourself and your son. 14 For thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, ‘The jar of flour shall not be spent, and the jug of oil shall not be empty, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth.’” 15 And she went and did as Elijah said. And she and he and her household ate for many days. 16 The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that he spoke by Elijah. ~ 1 Kings 17: 8–16

The majority of us don’t have millions of dollars to spare. In fact, the majority of us don’t have any to spare. The economy is declining, local stores and restaurants are closing all around us. The land and its people are struggling. And because of all of this causes people to feel hopeless. This is similar to the widow of Sidon. She was a widow with a son in the middle of a famine, and she had nothing. She was prepared to bake one last cake, eat with her son, and die.

Imagine that. This woman had given up all hope. She was preparing to die. Hope was completely gone, yet God in His great mercy didn’t leave this widow, who wasn’t even a Jew, hopeless. He sent Elijah to her so that she might have hope. So that she might live and not die. Her faith was like a little ember dying, but God gave her a chance to ignite the flame one more time.

This is where a lot of us are now. We’re without hope. We’re living in a world filled with sin and darkness. There’s a spiritual famine. There’s a huge economical inflation. There’s no hope, and we are preparing to die, yet God is knocking at the door. He’s asking us to give Him whatever it is that we’re holding on to so that He might multiply it. So that He might bless us with a blessing that is of good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Give Out of Your Little.

Stick To God’s Plan

God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. ~ Ephesians 1:5

God’s salvation plan wasn’t last minute. It wasn’t something that He just pulled out of the air. He planned this from the very beginning. He prepared a way for us to return to Him before we even fell from grace. God hasn’t changed. Before we’re even tempted to sin, God created an escape plan for us.

Begin To Train Your Brain

Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. ~ Colossians 3:2

So often, our focus is on the things of this world that won’t last. The things that are temporal, that often lead to death. These are the things that take up our time and separate us from God. These things only get in the way of our heavenly reward. So why do we constantly fall down over the same temporary things?

I guess it’s because it’s hard to focus on something that we can’t see or imagine. We can’t imagine what God has in store for those who love Him. We can’t imagine the great reward that awaits us, so we focus on what we can see and imagine. It comes with being human.

Don’t be discouraged. There’s hope. We can change with the help of the Holy Spirit. We start with the transformation of our mind, which starts with reading your bible and spending quiet time with the LORD. When we begin to train our brains, the Spirit of God begins to take hold of us, and He helps us to focus on the eternal instead of the temporal. We just have to make the first move.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Begin To Train Your Brain.

Lean On The Almighty

26 My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. ~ Psalms 73:26NLT

When we live in a dark world that is only getting darker, it’s easy to become discouraged. But I want to remind you of whom you serve, for we don’t serve mere man, but we serve the creator of all man. We serve the creator of everything we see and don’t see.

We serve the God who sees us, even when we don’t sew Him. We serve the God who saves us, even when we don’t deserve it. We serve the God who called us by name so that we may not die but live. We serve the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the Almighty, the Prince of Peace, the Everlasting Father, the King of kings, and LORD of Lords. There is no one like our God. He is unique in all of His ways. He neither slumbers nor does He grow weary. His Name alone is a strong tower. He is the Good Shepherd that gives His life up for His sheep. That is the God we serve.

You are not alone in this present darkness. God Himself dwells with you and in you. When you are weak, He is strong. So, lean on Him that He might carry you out of the darkness and into His glorious light. Don’t try to do things on your own with your own power, might, and strength. Let the Almighty God fight for you, clearing the way to your finish line.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Lean On The Almighty.

Watch The Stars At Night

15 When the water in the skin was gone, she put the child under one of the bushes. 16 Then she went and sat down opposite him a good way off, about the distance of a bowshot, for she said, “Let me not look on the death of the child.” And as she sat opposite him, she lifted up her voice and wept. 17 And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. 18 Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” 19 Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. 20 And God was with the boy, and he grew up. He lived in the wilderness and became an expert with the bow. 21 He lived in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother took a wife for him from the land of Egypt. ~ Genesis 21:15-21

Ishmael and Hagar were out in the beating sun. They were hot and dehydrated. Ishmael couldn’t go on anymore, so Hagar completely gave up. She set her son down under a bush and walked far enough away so that she didn’t have to watch him die. The moment she set him down to die was the moment she completely gave up all hope, and she spiritually died.

Where hope abounds, there is life, but the minute that hope is snuffed out, death comes. Hagar’s hopelessness wasn’t the beginning though, that’s not where she started. Hagar started with discouragement, then that led to sadness, then that led to depression. When depression proved too hard to battle anymore, complete and utter hopelessness overcame her, and her spiritual self died.

It doesn’t say that God placed a well there. It doesn’t say God caused a well to spring up for Hagar. It says God opened her eyes to see the well that was already there. Hagar’s hopelessness caused her to miss the very thing she needed to stay alive. It caused her to almost miss her saving grace.

It’s always darkest right before the dawn; that’s why when things get really dark, and you feel like you can’t take it anymore, you have to look for the light and focus on it. God will never allow us to just walk through completely hopeless situations where there is not even a glimpse of light to hold on to. Look at the night sky. No matter how dark it gets, the moon and the stars still shine in the sky, giving us the hope that the night can never prevail over the day because soon the sun will rise again, and the night will have to retreat until dusk.

When things get dark, we can’t give in and lose our spiritual sight. We have to hold onto the light so that when we get to our well, we can see it and rejoice.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Watch The Stars At Night.
