Take Part In The Children’s Bread

19 Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and He delivered them from their distress. 20 He sent out His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. 21 Let them thank the Lord for His steadfast love, for His wondrous works to the children of man! 22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, and tell of His deeds in songs of joy!” ~ Psalms 107:19-22

It sounds cliché, but God can heal any disease and any sickness and any virus. The Psalmist wrote that when the people cried out to the LORD, He delivered them because He loved them. So rejoice because His love has not run out. His love is infinite, and we are drenched in His never-ending love. As a father never stops loving his child, neither does our Heavenly Father stop loving us.

Peter takes this a step further by saying that we are already healed. We may not feel healed at the moment, but all we have to do is declare, accept, and believe our healing. That may sound crazy, but that’s exactly what our God promised us. Healing. We are the Children of God given authority over every sickness, disease, and virus. It’s time we start acting like it. It’s time we start moving in faith. God didn’t give us healing, just to take it away. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.

Healing is the Children’s Bread, and we ARE His Children. So don’t be afraid, discouraged, overwhelmed, or any other negative emotion because of this scare. You are a Child of God. Hold tight to your faith because it is your faith that will heal you.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Take Part In The Children’s Bread.

Use The Name of Jesus

Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked to receive alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, as did John, and said, ‘Look at us.’ And he fixed his attention on them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, ‘I have no silver and gold, but what I do have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk!’ 16 And His name—by faith in His name—has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all.’” ~ Acts 3:3-6; 16

They stopped and looked at him. Why? Because they were looking for faith. They were looking to see if the man had faith or doubt. The man came expecting a miracle. Look at verse 5. He looked at them expecting a miracle.

Do we expect to see every time we pray? Or have our prayers just become routine to make us feel like we did something? All Peter said was” in Jesus name get up and walk,” He didn’t say some long drawn out prayer filled with big words and few tears. He said 8 words and the man was healed.

What does that matter? They understood the power of the Name of Jesus. They knew that when they spoke in Jesus’ name, it would come to pass. Their faith was strong. They knew their God. They knew His power. They knew His authority. They knew Him. How much time do we spend with God? Not just making requests, but actual communion with Him? faith comes by heaving. And hearing by the Word of God. Why? Because you get to know Him. If you know Him, your faith will be boosted, It only takes the faith of a mustard seed to move mountain. It only takes a small amount of faith to move mountains, yet we don’t even have enough faith to heal a headache.

Jesus is calling us out onto the water, but our lack of faith is sinking us. Jesus is the name above all names. He is the name that saves. That heals. That delivers, yet we don’t use it nor have faith in it like we should. Jesus said we would do greater things than He did. keep in mind He raised the dead. So where are these miracles? Once we have the faith we need, we will see the miracles take place.

Peace. Love. Go forth and Use The Name of Jesus.

Question, But Still Trust

21 Saul replied, ‘But I’m only from the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important of all the families of that tribe! Why are you talking like this to me?’ 22 Then Samuel brought Saul and his servant into the hall and placed them at the head of the table, honoring them above the thirty special guests. 23 Samuel then instructed the cook to bring Saul the finest cut of meat, the piece that had been set aside for the guest of honor. 24 So the cook brought in the meat and placed it before Saul. ‘Go ahead and eat it,’ Samuel said. ‘I was saving it for you even before I invited these others!’ So Saul ate with Samuel that day.” ~ 1 Samuel 9:21-24

Saul didn’t see himself as Samuel did. Samuel saw God’s chosen King of Israel, Saul saw himself as a member of the least important, probably poorest family of the smallest tribe in Israel. He couldn’t see the vision God had for his life, so he asked, “why me?” Samuel didn’t get upset by this. Samuel didn’t condemn him for questioning; instead he tried reassuring him by showing him a glimpse of God’s plan by sitting him at the head of the table and giving him the best cut of meat.

Even though Saul couldn’t see it, he didn’t argue. After he asked that question, he obeyed and followed Samuel’s instructions. He could have argued and told him he couldn’t take the most important seat at the table. No, instead, he accepted his call and didn’t fight it. He didn’t fully understand, yet he committed. He probably didn’t fully believe, but yet he committed.

Is God calling you to be someone or something that doesn’t make sense to you because you’re not enough, you’re too poor, too young, too stupid, too messy? Ask the why, but walk with faith following the call, even if you don’t get a response from God on the why.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Ask, “Why?”

Use Your Stick

45 David replied to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with sword, spear, and javelin, but I come to you in the Name of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies—the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 Today the Lord will conquer you, and I will kill you and cut off your head. And then I will give the dead bodies of your men to the birds and wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel! 47 And everyone assembled here will know that the Lord rescues his people, but not with sword and spear. This is the Lord’s battle, and He will give you to us!’” ~ 1 Samuel 17:45-47

I want you to understand the scene. David is just a boy. A shepherd. Not a warrior. Not a strong man. Goliath, on the other hand, is a grown man. Fighting from his youth. The Philistine Champion. Did I mention he’s 9 ft tall? And his chain mail alone weighed 125 lbs? Or that his spearhead alone weighed 15 lbs? And David went to him with a stick…

David didn’t go with the armor offered by the king, it was too big for him. David is so small that the King’s armor doesn’t fit him. And yet he is so confident in who his God is, that he goes to this 9 ft tall man of war with a stick and a stone. Most of us would see this as a suicide mission, but David knew His God. He knew how He protected him from the lion and the bear. He never forgot where God had brought him from. He spent that quiet time with God so that when it was time to put his faith into action, he was able to do so without doubt or fear.

At some point, we will all stand before our own Goliaths but will be able to overcome them with the stick God gave us or fail with the man-made sword we gave ourselves. Trust God. You don’t need to add to what God gave you. He gave you everything you need. Your job is to trust Him and fight.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Use Your Stick.

Risk It All

23 When Abigail saw David, she quickly got off her donkey and bowed low before him. 24 She fell at his feet and said, ‘I accept all blame in this matter, my lord. Please listen to what I have to say. 25 I know Nabal is a wicked and ill-tempered man; please don’t pay any attention to him. He is a fool, just as his name suggests. But I never even saw the young men you sent.’” ~ 1 Samuel 25:23-25

A little background, David is fleeing from King Saul. He is staying in the Wilderness of Paran with very little provisions. So he reaches out to a wealthy man, Nabal, who was preparing to celebrate a feast and asks for any leftover provisions he can spare. Nabal’s response is basically, “What? Who is he that I should give him a scrap? Who does this David think he is?” This insult riles David up, and he gathers about 400 of his men to go wipe out Nabal and his entire household so that there is no longer any question who David is.

This is now where this verse picks up. Abigail, Nabal’s wife, goes to David before he slaughters her and her entire household and pleads for mercy. She reminds him that it wasn’t them who insulted him, but only her husband. Abigail could have been killed then and there for all she knew, but she didn’t care. She had to at least try. She had to at least attempt to save her family.

How many of us are willing to risk everything to save our family from Eternal Death? Too often, we’re afraid to offend family members and push them away by speaking Truth to them. We’re afraid to offend the world by speaking Truth. Intercede for your family because if you don’t, who will? God said He looked for one man to stand in the gap and found none. Intercede for your family before God. Speak to them face to face. What is prayer without action? Too often, we just pray once or twice for them, and never take that next step of actually witnessing to them. Don’t be afraid of their reaction, place it before God as Abigail did, and trust that He will protect you and also water all the seeds you planted in prayer.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Risk It All.

Faith Increase

The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!” And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. ~ Luke 17:5

Jesus was teaching on forgiveness when His disciples asked for an increase in faith. Jesus addresses the request by talking about a mustard seed faith. He was saying, “It’s not the amount of faith you have that is important, because just a small amount can do great and unbelievable things.” So it is not the amount of faith per se, but putting that faith into action. Even the smallest of seeds can grow into the largest of trees, but first it has to be planted. No matter how many seeds you have, how big or small they may be, if you don’t plant them, they will never grow. Same with faith, you could have the tiniest amount of faith, but as long as you use it, it will grow, and you will see things happen.

Heavenly Father, please look down today in love, and help us to put the measure of faith we have been given into action. Help us to use what we have now to increase what we will have in the future, in Jesus name, amen.

Let Go

““1Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. 2And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. 3I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 4So Abram went, as the Lord had told him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.” ~ Genesis 12:1-4

God promised Abraham descendants, that he would be made into a great nation… but he was in his old age, and Sarah, his wife, was barren. Abraham could have easily given up on this promise, but he didn’t. Now sure he made some mistakes along the way, but he never gave up on that promise. He may not have gotten 100 on the test, but he definitely passed. And that’s the key, he didn’t give up, though he did succumb to the temptation his wife put in before him. Don’t get the wrong idea this isn’t just Sarah’s fault, Abraham is the head of his household he should have corrected Sarah like Adam should have corrected Eve.

There’s a pattern in the bible… Sometimes men are weak. Men, you’re supposed to be the head if you fall, we fall… And woman sometimes we need to just sit back and let God do as He has promised… Sometimes as women, we try to control things because we don’t want to wait… The decisions we make today will affect the generations to come.

Exodus 34:7 says, “[God keeps] steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.” And Abraham’s sin has caused his descendants to suffer both the Arabs and the Jews. But the good thing is even though we, both men and women, are impatient, and think we know best, God still says, ‘these are my children. Sure they’ve got a couple cuts and bruises here and there from disobedience, and sure they go left when I tell them right. But they’re my children, and I will never give up on them. I won’t forget them, but instead, I will slowly pull them back to Me. I would do anything for them because I love them. Though they do not deserve my love or my forgiveness, I will send them my Son, my one and only Son. He will be their deliverer. He will be the final sacrifice because He is the perfect sacrifice. And they will be spared if they only accept My Son.’

We have to learn to trust God. We have to learn to follow God. We have to learn to seek God, if not for ourselves, for our children. What we do today, affects what happens to not only us but everyone around us, tomorrow. We aren’t the only ones that our decisions affect. We have to learn how to trust God and understand that His plans for our lives are the best. We have to understand that God’s path is the best path, though it may not seem plausible, it may not make sense, it may not be the easiest, but it is the best way. It is the right way. We have to learn as both men and women, to stand firm in the promise God has given to each of us. We have to learn how to trust God and His plans. We have to learn how to have faith in God when it seems difficult. We have to learn how to let go and let God. We have to learn how to give up control so that God can lead us into our promise.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Let Go.

Do

Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded. In the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants he lifted up the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile turned into blood.” ~ Exodus 7:20

Notice anything? Maybe the fact that God always had Aaron do something physical before a miracle could take place. See this anywhere else in the bible? Maybe when Jesus healed the blind, lame, etc. They all had to do something. It wasn’t enough for them to just have faith they had to tie it together with works. They had to do exactly what they were believing would happen. See we serve a willing and able God, but we lack something… faith.

See faith is broken up into two parts believing it will happen and living like it has happened. We got the first one down, we believe it is possible, but we refuse to live our lives like it is. We all suffer from a disease called doubt. We believe it’s possible, but we doubt it worked. We contradict ourselves. We’re or worst enemies most of the time because we’re the only one that can stop ourselves from receiving what the LORD has given to us. Stop doubting. Stop second guessing. Stop questioning. Imagine what would happen if you fully believed. How many more mountains would be moved? How many more prayers would be answered? Imagine the army we would have.

We, the church, is an army, but right now we’re like Saul, we kill a couple thousand, No Big Deal. We could be David and kill tens of thousands, which is pretty cool. But what if we’re meant for more? What if we’re meant to be like the angel who killed 185,000 soldiers… in one night. What if that’s our destiny to be great and destroy strongholds, addictions, principalities, etc. in one night. Jesus said we would do greater things than He did, what if we just need to stop just believing and start doing. Start living it instead of just speaking it.

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Do.

Be Obedient

1Then Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, ‘My daughter, should I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you? 2Is, not Boaz our relative, with whose young women you were? See, he is winnowing barley tonight at the threshing floor. 3Wash therefore and anoint yourself, and put on your cloak and go down to the threshing floor, but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking. 4But when he lies down, observe the place where he lies. Then go and uncover his feet and lie down, and he will tell you what to do.’ 5And she replied, ‘All that you say I will do.’

6So she went down to the threshing floor and did just as her mother-in-law had commanded her. 7And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain. Then she came softly and uncovered his feet and lay down. 8At midnight the man was startled and turned over, and behold, a woman lay at his feet!” ~ Ruth 3:1-8

Naomi told Ruth to go, once Boaz had finished eating and was asleep, uncover Boaz’s feet and lay next to him as he was sleeping. Without hesitation or questioning, Ruth went and did as she was told. Imagine if we had the same obedience as Ruth did when God tells us to do something. Imagine if we obeyed God no matter what today’s culture or society tells us. Imagine if we obeyed God and ignored our laziness, our shyness, our fear, our doubt, our flesh. What type of miracles would we see happen? What kind of breakthrough would we have?

What’s keeping you from absolute obedience? What’s hindering your faith? Obedience is better than sacrifice. If we could only obey… but our flesh is weak. How then can we strengthen our flesh? We must strengthen our Spirit Man. How then can we strengthen our Spirit Man? Daily prayer and meditation on God’s word. Not yoga meditation, but meditation on God’s Word. Sitting in His presence allowing Him to speak to us through His written word. When we pray, meditate, and worship we strengthen our Spirit Man. When we strengthen our Spirit Man, we are able to crucify the evil flesh and strengthen the good flesh. Once our flesh is strengthened our actions will more so follow the gentle guidance of Holy Spirit.

Just as Ruth believed Naomi knew better than she did, we should believe that God knows better than we do. When we believe in God’s goodness, faithfulness, and wisdom as Ruth believed in Naomi’s, we reap harvests like never before. We see miracles take place. We see prayers answered. We see blessings poured upon us, just as Ruth did. I believe because of her obedience and faith, Ruth was blessed. For the Savior of the entire world came through a non-Jew. The promise came through Ruth’s descendants. Ruth was grafted into the promise because of her obedience and her faith. How will God use you with your obedience?

Peace. Love. Go Forth and Be Obedient.

Be Still

4So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah into the field where his flock was 5and said to them, “I see that your father does not regard me with favor as he did before. But the God of my father has been with me. 6You know that I have served your father with all my strength, 7yet your father has cheated me and changed my wages ten times. But God did not permit him to harm me. 8If he said, ‘The spotted shall be your wages,’ then all the flock bore spotted; and if he said, ‘The striped shall be your wages,’ then all the flock bore striped. 9Thus God has taken away the livestock of your father and given them to me.

10In the breeding season of the flock I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream that the goats that mated with the flock were striped, spotted, and mottled. 11Then the angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob,’ and I said, ‘Here I am!’ 12And he said, ‘Lift up your eyes and see, all the goats that mate with the flock are striped, spotted, and mottled, for I have seen all that Laban is doing to you. 13I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and made a vow to me. Now arise, go out from this land and return to the land of your kindred.'” ~ Genesis 31:4-13

No matter what the world does to you if you put your faith and trust in God, He will protect you. He will do what is best for you. See Jacob didn’t get mad at Laban or try to fight his sons, but instead, he allowed God to fight his battles. He didn’t take it up with Laban and argue over what he thought he deserved he left it in God’s hands. I wonder what would be different in our lives if we just allow God to fight for us if we allow “Vengeance to be His” and remember and live by the fact that “God will fight for us, we need only be still.”

Imagine how much more blessings we would inherit. How many more opportunities we would receive. How many more doors would be open to us, if we would just “be still and know that He is God.” I’m not saying life would be easy; I’m saying imagine how much more you would get out of it. You want favor in your workplace, school, even church, allow God to fight your battles instead of you taking things into your own hands.

Peace. Love. Go forth and Be Still.
