Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch

Sometimes we expect our second chance to happen immediately. Our miracle we expect to happen at the very first touch. An instant healing, but it doesn’t always happen that way. Sometimes it takes a second touch. Sometimes it takes a second touch. Sometimes we have to try again in order to receive our healing. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he brings the fiery message entitled Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch.

Second Chances Pt. 2: The Second Touch

1 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might show the immeasurable riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around

We’ve all fallen down. We’ve all made mistakes that don’t deserve forgiveness but thank God we serve a God that does not give us what we deserve. Instead, He gives us mercy. We don’t deserve it, if we did, it would not be mercy. He doesn’t give us justice because justice would be an eternity in Hell for our sins, but mercy. Mercy is what He gives us lovingly. “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” What exactly does that mean? What was God trying to say? That we can get away with whatever we want and still go to Heaven? Or is there a deeper meaning to this verse from Hosea? How does it affect us in today’s world? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he dissects Hosea 6:6 in this Spirit-filled message, Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around, explaining the mercy of our God.

Second Chances Pt. 1: The Second Time Around

God Desires All To Have a Second Chance

16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.

John 3:16-17

The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

The Mercy of God

For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings.

Hosea 6:6

10 And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 12 But when He heard it, He said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Matthew 9:10-13

No Significant Features

Throughout our lives, we’ve been taught that God makes Himself and His plans for us known in extravagant ways. Burning Bush. Extreme Storm. Swallowed by a big fish. Fire from Heaven. Rain from Heaven. But does God always speak to us like this? Or sometimes are there no significant features? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he explains that the voice of God may be subtle, no clouds may be in the sky, but the rain is on its way, in his message, No Significant Features.

How Does God Speak?

There he came to a cave and lodged in it. And behold, the word of the Lord came to him, and he said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” 10 He said, “I have been very jealous for the Lord, the God of hosts. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.”

11 And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the Lord.” And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 And after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper. 13 And when Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And behold, there came a voice to him and said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”

1 Kings 19:9-13

There may not be any significant features that you can see, but if you do what God has commanded, and believe that it will be, you will see miracles happen!

LORD Send Someone Else

Miracles happen. Blessings are given. People are healed. If we allow God to do so. Isn’t that a weird concept? The idea of limiting God in our own lives? Sure God can use us, He can use anyone, but we have to let Him use us. He’ll never force us to be used. If we don’t want to, He’ll find someone else. We can join the many people who have missed opportunities God has given us. Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he opens our eyes to the possible missed blessings in his message ‘LORD, Send Someone Else.’

LORD Send Someone Else: Missed Opportunities

10 Moses said to the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

11 The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

13 But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”

14 Then the LORD’s anger burned against Moses and he said, “What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. 15 You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. 16 He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him.”

Exodus 4:10-16

Limiting God:

And Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his hometown and among his relatives and in his own household.” And He could do no mighty work there, except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. And He marveled because of their unbelief. And He went about among the villages teaching.

Here Comes The King

There was a large crowd laying down their cloaks and palm branches before Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. But what was Jesus doing there? Why was there such a large crowd going to Jerusalem? What does this have to do with us today? Join Reverend Kenny Yates as he shed some light on Palm Sunday in his message Here Comes The King.

Here Comes The King

12 The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13 So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” 14 And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written,

15 “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”

16 His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about Him and had been done to Him.

John 12:12-16

Our King came riding on a donkey as they laid palm branches before Him. The King has come. And the King is coming back very soon.
